Irwin Corey, the comic maestro who endeared himself to generations of audiences as the Worlds Foremost Authority, whose nonsensical monologues aped blowhard pundits, pompous academics and other know-it-alls, died Feb. 6 at his home in Manhattan. He was 102.
His son, painter, songwriter, singer and comedian Richard Corey, quipped that his father died peacefully, at home, surrounded by his son.
Under the moniker Professor Corey, the self-described rebel comedian spent eight decades perfecting a mock-intellectual routine laced with malapropisms and non sequiturs.

And queerer than a three-dollar bill.
***Rip Taylor*** Absolutely frantic and overly hyper . . . hilarious

Never paid any attention to it, nor did he. Great comic . . . had to take a sedative after his bits were done
Bill Dana is still alive. Will turn 93 this year.

The Professor was very funny. Saw him many times on the Steve Allen show. Didn’t agree with his politics, but the man was funny.

Wasn’t he the guy playing the astronaut? He’d say, “My name Jose Jimenez.”
I know the guy you’re talking about but can’t remember his name either. He was a riot.

Yes, I posted this earlier. The guy keeps a straight face the whole time.
RIP.
He’s been a regular in Howie Carr’s death pool for several years.
Corey came to my college to perform in the very early 1970’s for a Halloween Show. He was fantastic, it was held in hall on campus & the place was packed. His comic send up of swell headed academia was something to behold. (-:
I agree. He was hilarious. RIP.

Even as a kid, I could NOT stand to watch Rip Taylor.
