A lot of Freepers resist engaging in emotional groupthink. There has never been a consensus to boycott the NFL.

Never.

There are a number of vocal Freepers who go into every thread about football, declare they don’t watch football, and encourage others to stop watching it as well. They seem to care about something they state they don’t care about.

Thing is, nearly all NFL players show respect for the flag, and a minuscule minority don’t. That’s it.

True conservatives would recognize that it is an individual choice to watch or not watch, and can act as their conscience directs.

I'm one of them...

I've been called unpatriotic and a coward for not adhering to that silly groupthink mentality...amazing.

It's a freaking football game where 99 % of the players didn't make a ass of themselves by thinking their opinions outside of how they play the game were cared about.

That being said: Atlanta 42 - Pats 38

1. I'm not aware of any effort by anti-NFL Freepers to prevent anyone from watching the game who wants to watch (as if they could).

2. It's possible to love football yet decry what the NFL is turning in to, i.e., yet another business/corporation that disses conservatives whenever possible.

3. Keep in mind that the NFL is becoming politicized in ways that go beyond the Kaepernick-type protests. They are allowing pro-BLM stuff during halftime shows, and boycotting or threatening to boycott states who pass laws not in keeping with the progressive agenda.

4. They are bullies/extortionists who will pull teams from cities that won't build them billion dollar stadiums - three in just the pastwo years (St. Louis, San Diego, Oakland).

Come on, how many articles regarding criminal behavior have we seen involving NFL players? You could probably fill that stadium with them.

No one should be surprised that a hell of a lot of folks no longer watch that sport.

emotional groupthink.

The Superbowl, the Halftime "Show" (understatement), and the NFL today, is nothing BUT emotional groupthink.
