The change followed a weeks long boycott campaign, organized by Trump activist group called, "GRAB YOUR WALLET". The group demanded the department store giant cease doing business with the president or his family. Shannon Coulter, who runs GRAB YOUR WALLET, celebrated Nordstrom's decision as a milestone the campaign.
I think you are on to something. Buy stuff then return it! If we all did that they would suffer! Too bad I don’t live near one of those stores or I’d do it.

Sorry I don’t do thrift stores. Not that I’m against used stuff, my mom was a huge thrift store shopper and bought me stuff all the time. I can’t stand the smell. Lol. My cousin and niece are huge thrift store people here in Ventura. I go with them and then sit in the coffee shop down the street until they’re done.
That’s OK. I have dropped Nordstrom.
I was recently shopping at two different Nordstrom locations for my outfit for the Trump Inaugural Ball.

LOL for Nordstrom’s response. I wrote them earlier and my comment was ignored. However, the computer sent me a customer satisfaction survey asking me to evaluate my experience with Customer Service so I sent them a detailed, point by point response on their survey form about what they had stepped in. I am sure I won’t hear from them about that either.
Nordstrom’s response to my email and cancellation of my account:

It is not a political decision for us. We carry thousands of brands and making edits to our offering based on performance is part of the regular rhythm of our business.

Macy’s does not own Nordstrom.
“What is Von Maur?? Never heard of it!”
Von Maur is a high-end store chain that is the equivalent of Nordstrom in the mid-west. They are based in Davenport, Iowa and started in the 1800’s. They have stores in Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New York, Ohio and Oklahoma. They are a little too pricey for my paycheck but I have shopped there on occasion. You can check them out at www.vonmaur.com
Had never heard of von Maur so went and looked. They are not high end. I’d call them middle of the road. The stuff they carry is from middle designers like NYDJ, Coach, D&B, and Brighton. I didn’t see any high end designers anywhere. You can buy those names almost anywhere.
I’d put them more in the category of a Macy’s.
Exactly. I am so glad I purchased several of their cookbooks a few years ago because there is one entree’ I love and a main reason for us to go there. The sautéed chicken pilliard with angel hair pasta. Also my grandchildren love getting gift certificates from Nordies for birthdays. They will adjust, however. In fact, their mom and dad have raised them as little Trumpies and if I explain, they will get onboard. LOL
I didn’t know that either about Macy’s owning Nordstroms. Pity. Like a giant snake, Macy’s swallowed up the really good stores like Fields etc. and now the quality of the inventory has gone down significantly IMO.
I haven’t shopped at Macy’s since they fired the sales lady in San Antonio who politely told the trans-whatever perv that he couldn’t use the ladies fitting room. Don’t have Nordstrom in this area so that’s a non-issue for me. Hope they keep or have kept their mitts off of Dillards.
Macy’s does NOT own Nordstrom’s. Macy’s is out of New York, and I thought Nordstrom’s was an East Coast entity too, but it’s actually a West Coast entity, the mother ship is in Seattle, WA. Both companies are chock full of Libs.
