Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) on Thursday went out of his way to assert that Australia remains a critical ally of the United States after reports that President Trump badgered and hung up on Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull during a weekend phone call.
“I know Prime Minister Turnbull. He was in my office a couple months ago. He is a very important ally. Australia is a very central ally. They are and will continue to be,” Ryan told reporters during a news conference.
Later, Ryan was asked by a reporter for Australian Broadcasting Corp. if her country should be worried about its relationship with the U.S. less than two weeks after Trump took office.

Like I have repeatedly stated, Ryan is a POS backstabber.
He says one good thing about Trump, and trashes him when he’s not looking.

I think this is just Ryan responding to a reporter’s question, and the press then trying to turn it into a controversy or some slam on Trump. Its not like Ryan put out a press release. The response seems appropriate. I’m sure Trump would have said the same thing. Don’t let the press get people stirred up over nothing.

So what I’ve been able to glean is
Australia is probably demanding the USA follow-through on Obama’s agreement to accept 1250 muslim refugees/jihadis/welfare-seekers to get them out of Australia ASAP.
Trump said NO and called it “dumb deal.”
