If true, given the media treatment of both her and their 10 year old son, I can’t say I blame her for wanting them both to remain in safe, familiar surroundings. I’d be disappointed in not seeing her as First Lady, though, I’ll admit to having looked forward to that.

The damn media has already had a wave of speculating on what's "wrong" with her son just because he was sleepy on election night, who would want to stand him up in DC as a target for more BS from hyenas and jackals like that?
The scum in the media will be hounding the poor kid worse than they have anyone in the past so she should err on the side of caution.

I don't have time to read this entire thread, but in case it hasn't been posted here, Melania released a statement early this evening that she and Barron will move into the White House after his school closes for summer break.
She further stated she will immediately assume all the duties of First Lady upon moving in. She announced the name of her Chief of Staff...and I assume the rest of her staff will be announced as they come on board.

I’m with you. I think it would send an important message to the country. That they are united and as one. It would show they want their family together. It would also show that Melania is engaged with her new country and wants to be part of it’s institutions and culture.
I will live if she doesn’t move, but it would look way better if they were together under the same roof of the nation’s house.
