Though Donald, 70, and his wife Melania announced in November that the first lady would relocate from New York City to Washington D.C. once their 10-year-old son Barron finished up the school year, a family insider reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly that may not happen. "They will reevaluate toward the end of the school year if they will keep this arrangement or if Melania and Barron will move to Washington," says the source.

There are LOTS of grass, trees, and yes, hills in NYC. It used to be and probably still is a great place to bring a child up in, especially IF you have the kind of wealth that the Trumps have. And don't forget that the President has many different homes, in many different states!

If true, given the media treatment of both her and their 10 year old son, I can’t say I blame her for wanting them both to remain in safe, familiar surroundings. I’d be disappointed in not seeing her as First Lady, though, I’ll admit to having looked forward to that.

That’s what I’m afraid of. It would be nice if she could find it in her heart to be in D.C., but if it’s not best for Barron then she has to do what her instincts tell her.
If she stays in NY, one of two things will happen. (1) The distance will have a negative impact on the marriage, or (2) the marriage will remain solid but the situation will provide more fodder for the MSM to invent fake news. Best-case scenario: She and Barron move to D.C.

NYC grass and trees are museum pieces for visitation by residents yearning for some small glimpse of the earth.
To satisfy their longing for the free and open, they steal land in other states and call it parks. And then proceed to mismanage that, too.

There are many, many parks in NYC and obviously, you haven't ever been in all of the 5 boroughs.

Having sold real estate for many years, I can’t name the families whose children were devastated by a necessary move for corporate transfers, family situations, etc. They left friends, cousins, shcools, sports teams. They managed and I am sure in many cases they were stronger for the experience. It is more than understandable to stay in NY through the school year, after that she needs to be attentive to her responsibilities as a First Lady.

I and my four siblings are P.K.s and we relocated to the town wherever Dad’s next church was. It wasn’t fun, but it was life. We adjusted, were at the top of our classes, and became successful adults. As children, we lived in the official “poverty” level so we certainly didn’t have the advantages that a multi-billionaire President’s child has.
I think if she uses Barron as an excuse to stay in NY, she’ll be opening a door for criticisms of elitism. Stay-at-home American wives have kids and they move where their husbands’ jobs take them.
A few grassy knolls in the middle of a concrete jungle is not nature.
And you probably didn’t catch Barry Obama, denizen of Chicago, another concrete paradise, stealing millions more acres of America as he was going out the door.

And the above was just talking about one, ONE, of the 5 boroughs that comprise NYC! Staten Island has FOREST! Go ahead, look it up! LOL
Obviously, the ONLY thing you sort of know ( but really don't!) is news about the South Side ghettos, of Chicago. And even the South Side has vast stretches of park land!
And then there's Grant Park, the enormous stretch, along the whole stretch of Lake Michigan, that is either park or a vast BEACH! Yes, a BEACH, right downtown, on the Gold Coast, and right off Michigan Ave.!
What a president does ( and Clinton took lands too, and turned them into "a park", has NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with where they grew up/came from. Old Slick Willie came from the hinterlands of ARKANSAS; hardly a "concrete paradise".
And the lands that both wee barry and old Slick grabbed, were done so for monetary and political reasons AND those lands are BARREN; treeless, FLAT, ugly wastelands!

That could be. Lots of folks want their kids to grow up with their contacts in tact. Barron has attended this school and has close friends there.
What his mother and father decide, is just fine with me.
