One of the most anticipated moves of the new president -- his nomination of a justice to fill the vacancy on the U.S. Supreme Court -- has been revealed.
And conservatives are likely to be thrilled by the choice.
The Independent Journal Review (IJR) is reporting that, based on the confirmation from two Trump administration sources, Colorado Judge Neil Gorsuch will be nominated by President Donald Trump to be the next Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court.
The IJR report reads:
Speaking on background, an administration source instrumental to the SCOTUS selection process tells IJR, Yes. It is Gorsuch. 100 percent. The Hardiman thing is a head fake. Thomas Hardiman is the other Judge Trump was considering for the vacancy, who is also in Washington, D.C.Gorsuch, currently 49 years old, would become one of the youngest SCOTUS appointments in history. The Colorado native attended Harvard Law with former President Barack Obama and is a "strict Constitutionalist," says IJR.A second source within the Trump administration confirmed IJRs reporting.

I didnt know this until just now but Gorsuch was part of the Hobby Lobby Stores and Little Sisters of the Poor cases against the Obamacare contraception mandate. He is definitely on our side.
Outstanding. Dems will become unhinged if it is a Hobby Lobby lawyer. LOL.
“Do YOU trust this guy on upholding Trump’s illegal alien enforcement? I don’t.”
1. I trust Trump and his advisors to pick the right person.
2. I trust he will follow the Constitution and the law.
Actually Gorsuch was a judge on those 2 very important cases, but the Dems will hate him anyway like they hated Scalia. I bet he would have dissented on the main Obamacare case like Scalia did, unlike Roberts.
I like what I’ve read about Gorsuch. My concern is he clerked for Scotus Judge Kennedy, so if he’s on the bench, might be pulled towards Kennedy’s direction? That’s always an unknown.
Judge Judy Rules
You're right about that.
He's also been deferential to government authority. I want a Supreme Court that skeptically views the government's actions.
An excellent pick.
The perfect judge hardly ever seems to be out there, but this is a very, very good pick.
Many lawyers are justifiably proud of their pro bono work, even on behalf of clients identified with left wing whining. I represented HIV+ clients who were discriminated against, two significant death penalty appeals for clients who committed horrific murders, residents of a city where the cops routinely showed up in uniform but on their off times to help landlords evict tenants without any eviction notice or proceedings, and a bunch of others. If the side I would normally agree with doesn't have a case, or if they're doing the right thing the wrong way, I always felt positive about winning.
I hate illegal immigration, but the process is there for a reason and if the gov't doesn't have a solid case they may be kicking out someone who really does have a right to be here.
That said, I prefer Gorsuch as well.
Out of the names being discussed, my personal preference is Diane Sykes.
“””Perhaps Trump told ONE person who his choice was in order to find out WHO THE LEAKER IS.”””
Wow, that is a thought
It won’t be any of these.
Trump would indeed never telegraph anything.
If it is Cruz, can he note for himself? I would suspect he can.
Thank you for posting that wonderful photo my friend.
The Holy Spirit truly lives within President Trump. He has lit up this nation with his courage and wisdom
When I heard the Roberts comp on Hardiman that pretty much sealed it for me... hell no!
I was just reading NR’s Ramesh Ponnoru and (never-Trumper) Erick Ericson’s articles. They are very pleased, if Gorsuch is chosen.
One article I was reading said Scalia was very interested in Gorsuch’s meteoric rise. Maybe he saw a little of himself in Gorsuch, and they do say Gorsuch is sometimes eerily like Scalia. If Gorsuch becomes Scalia’s successor, I think it would have made Scalia very happy.
Yes, I have read that he is the most Scalia-like candidate that we have. That Hardiman is more like Alito—good, but not fantastic.
What makes you think Pres. Trump didn’t authorize the leak?
Prefer Hardiman.
Pro bono isn’t always a choice.

Hardiman is considered to be a Centrist, the kind that almost always ends up on the liberal side of opinions. Like Kennedy, only probably worse.
Do YOU trust this guy on upholding Trump’s illegal alien enforcement? I don’t.

I hope President Trump was made aware of this. But if he was, I wonder why this guy was ever under consideration!
