Leaked Executive Order Reveals Trump Crackdown On Immigrant Welfare

Seemingly following the proposals of Bill Clinton (and Ron Paul), The Washington Post reports that a leaked document shows the Trump administration is planning to crackdown on current, and would-be, immigrants who are likely to require public assistance.

The Washington Post reports that The Trump administration is considering a plan to weed out would-be immigrants who are likely to require public assistance, as well as to deport — when possible — immigrants already living in the United States who depend on taxpayer help, according to a draft executive order obtained by The Washington Post.

While Trump’s immigration ban last week focused on national security and preventing terrorism, the new draft orders would be focused on Trump’s campaign promises to protect American workers and to create jobs, immediately restricting the flow of immigrants and temporary laborers into the U.S. workforce.

WaPo goes on to note that the administration would be seeking to “deny admission to any alien who is likely to become a public charge” and develop standards for “determining” whether an immigrant can be deported after five years if that person receives a certain amount of public assistance, including Food Stamps, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and Medicaid.

Immigrants were detained and sent back home at Ellis Island, too, for being a "public charge."

Despite the island's reputation as an "Island of Tears", the vast majority of immigrants were treated courteously and respectfully, and were free to begin their new lives in America after only a few short hours on Ellis Island. Only two percent of the arriving immigrants were excluded from entry. The two main reasons why an immigrant would be excluded were if a doctor diagnosed that the immigrant had a contagious disease that would endanger the public health or if a legal inspector thought the immigrant was likely to become a public charge or an illegal contract laborer.

The New Policy Is Heaven Sent. 80% of current refugees are on public assistance. Most of those from Mexico and Central American end up of public assistance. We don’t need people with not skills who become a public charge. That’s a recipe for disaster and we’ve been living under it for decades.

The Social Security office near me is always crowded with Indians signing their parents up for checks. They never paid a dime into the program and are draining the system before I will have the chance to collect, and I have paid in for 40 years.

leaks can be because there’s a leaker in the house (who DJT will eventually identify and probably Fire)

leaks can also occur because the admin is testing the political waters, reaction on a proposed course of action...

this leak could, i think, maybe be either...
