McCain did, no doubt, spend some time in a Hanoi prison. Up until the time he refused to go home before others imprisoned before him.
I say softly that McCain, it is rumored, made some sort of deal with the Vietcong, that he would be their celebrity prisoner and he could “serve” his time in an apartment in Hanoi.
But make no mistake, I could not quote you any source but then again I am not the NY Times, just a commenter on a political site thread.
Only the NY Times can totally make up stuff. Though an argument that I have no proof would be reasonable.
But like the Kerry drama, there’s plenty of people that know he truth and I think Donald Trump is one of them.
In fact, I think Donald Trump knows a lot of stuff under-cover. Yeah, I think our federal gubmint is filled with good decent people who are sick of seeing all this crap and selling of our country right under their eyes.
I suspect that Trump has a network of people who have been coming forward, even if to the advisors and potential cabinet nominees.
Yeah......Americans are good and don’t want their country sold under them. Which I why protesters defending terrorists at airports and ugly women dress in vagina suits won’t win the public blessing.

There were actually several prison sites known to exist in Hanoi during the Vietnam War. The most famous being the Hoa Lo, a name meaning “hell hole.” It was later nicknamed the Hanoi Hilton. Perhaps this is where the idea of an apartment came from.
The POW’s did not “serve” time. They were tortured, some on an hourly, daily, monthly, yearly basis. It is unlikely the VC would risk putting any POW in a location where they could be rescued from or escape from.
