California Threatens To Cut Off Funds To Washington

With secession threats looming, the state of California is reportedly studying ways to suspend financial transfers to Washington after the Trump administration threatened to withhold federal money from sanctuary cities.

With California counties among the Top 10 who stand to lose tax-payer funding for providing sanctuary to illegal immigrants...

KPIX5 reports that officials are looking for money that flows through Sacramento to the federal government that could be used to offset the potential loss of billions of dollars’ worth of federal funds if President Trump makes good on his threat to punish cities and states that don’t cooperate with federal agents’ requests to turn over undocumented immigrants, a senior government source in Sacramento said.

The federal funds pay for a variety of state and local programs from law enforcement to homeless shelters.

Something that just occurred to me although I have known about it for awhile , just never put the two together. Many have espoused a second civil war in America is becoming more and more prevalent. Two hot areas of contention come to mind, Chicago and Calexit. Could it be possible that like the first civil war, the North thinking the South easy to defeat, has led some to this same false of security should Calexit come to fruition? I believe as things ratchet up in California and the Calexit vote nears, how people will react to this. Should Federal troops enter California this could spark the fire that would plummet the Union into a visceral fight that will spread across the land. While the aftermath may not be of the Postman apocolyptic type, it would forever change the USA for a second time in last 150 years. Would this be bad or good? History will only be the judge of whether to write the obituary on the greatest expirement on Earth, or whether the expirement to continue. One thing that is certain is that on the other side, the Nation will be changed, no matter the outcome.

“Your abject lack of ALL skills is appalling, but worse still, is your projection complex. “

What am I projecting?

Your lack of reading comprehension?

When I say:

“I support Cali on their not paying fedgov taxes”.

And you come back with “You’re a NeverTrumper who supports and wants illegal immigration”...

...what can one possibly say to such a non-sequitur?

“And IF JR is all in for this, re California, he’s wrong and yes, he can be and has been wrong about some things in the past. “

Again, improved reading skills are your friend. JR clearly stated his position and is NOT “all in”.

He and I support the withholding of taxes to the fedgov.

Why is this SOOOOOOO hard for you?

I don’t care if they secede, but I want to teach them a lesson. Liberals need us, but we don’t need them.

Since the 2000 election when Clinton made it possible for 10’s if not 100’s of thousands of non citizen illegal insurgent criminal alien colonists to vote, it has gotten much worse

2016, 2M illegal non citizen voters in Calif.

Combined with other fraud (ACORN/Soros/dead/people) it’s about 2.2M

Clinton, 7,362,490 minus 2.2M = 5,162,490

Trunp 3,916,209 plus 2.2M = 6,116,209

Trump by a landslide

Look, you are dead wrong re the tax withholding thing, in California, you are also dead wrong re refusing to paying taxes to the Fed, altogether. It is the law and breaking it, at will, is also wrong. THIS ISN'T THE WAY TO GET TO WHERE YOU WANT TO GET!

Your support of Cali, now, is what led to my posts, because it's LOGICAL; unlike you and your posts.

You don't like my posts, I get that; however, you're posts are OFF TOPIC, uneducated, emotional, irrational, and your stab at starting a flame war is just as lame.

We need a parallel effort to kick CA out of the Union and call it #CalBoot or #CalLeave.

intriguing. most california liberals are unarmed. so once secession starts, the liberals could then “assist” the ebt card folks, and vice versa. this would be like an extended purge. the rest of us could make sure we have enough popcorn to last until the festivities end.

Dear California:

You don’t have enough water on your own, you don’t have enough energy on your own, you can’t pay your bills as it is. In other words, you just ain’t Texas.

Whatever scenario you’ve gamed out, you’d best run through it again, more slowly and carefully this time.

Obviously there’ll be no secession, nor will they ever stop paying taxes. All I’m saying is, it’s an opportunity. Utilize this for OUR political movement. Agree with them on withholding taxes to the fedgov. See what happens!

I strongly support a complete change to the way we fund the state and federal governments. I've been of the opinion for a very long time, that taxing production (labor, manufacturing, etc.) is suicidal to a nation's economy. I'd much prefer we tax consumption instead, which is why I find the Fair Tax appealing.

The old adage goes, 'If you want less of something, tax it. If you want more of something, subsidize it.'

The geniuses in our government don't seem to be able to figure that out. They're taxing the very things we want more of, thus penalizing production, and subsidizing the things we want less of, thus rewarding sloth. It just seems to be a hard wired level of stupid that practically needs a revolution to undo.

Thankfully, we now have a President who has just the sort of revolutionary mindset to get the job done.

As for California, I think the rest of the country will be laughing out loud at their folly in short order.

[Trump should] limit the power of the presidency. No more ‘executive orders’ no more ‘signing statements’. The presidency should be Gutted and become a figurehead only.

Trump can't gut the presidency. Only Congress and the states can do that by amending the Constitution.

What President Trump can do is gut the federal leviathan. That's the thing that's killing us.

Post re-construction (civil war) LAW gives the president the authority to federalize a states national guard. This gets around the Posse Comitatus in the Constitution.

The federalized national guard can be ordered to arrest the governor, every legislator, every justice all the way down the chain to the janitors.

Brings to mind the National Guard forcing Gov George Wallace to integrate the schools in Alabama.

The President has some awfully big sticks he can use to put a stop to all this leftist nonsense. It appears that he's going to be forced to use one or more of his big sticks to bring our nation's domestic enemies to heel.

I'm with him, whichever way he decides to handle this.
