California's secretary of state has given the green light for a group to take the first step in the political process for the state to secede from the United States.

California was the defense industry and agricultural giant of the 40s to 60s. It is a shame so many fine conservatives are saddled with a state majority that is the most destructive of all the leftist states.
In New York and New Jersey, they want your money. But in California, they want your kids, your brain and your conduct.
He’s going to make them crap their pants doing an investigation into voter fraud.
California is probably massively over represented in the electoral college. Same for Congress, probably have populations that mean nothing here that are being represented like they were legal residents or citizens.
Again I have sympathy for people in need, but we can’t sink a country trying to rescue the world on our welfare state.
Finally, some clear and logical thinking from those
outside of the current California. In fact, I would
like to keep the name California and compel the new
nation to change their name. I might suggest North Mexico.
In truth, the secession idea is just a response to Trump
and will be gone when Trump is.
A better idea would be to spit California into two possibly 3 seperate states.
3 states would have the advantage of the states that are more conservative would border Mexico and California.
Also the EC would favor the two new Blue states.:)
East California (Roughly LA-San fran West of I-5)
North East California (Roughly everything East of I-5 and the norht of Fresno? Would also include the western coastline above San Fran)
South East California (everything left to the south of Fresno)

I see that we’re keeping with a time honored FR tradition of never reading the underlying article. They’re apparently accusing the organizer of this of being a bit disingenuous. Maybe he’s a republican and Trump supporter? The article alludes to that.

First California needs a civil war within itself to split into 5 or 6 smaller states.

California is deceptive. It has a couple of uber-rich holes (SillyCon Valley and Hollywood). The rest of it (and the state government and most of the cities)...broke or nearly broke, with few jobs and tons of unemployed people who’ve given up hope of ever getting work.
To cure California, a way has to be found to cure the sicko culture of Hollywood (and many of SillyCon Valley’s owners share this, to a significant degree). This sicko culture has infected much of the state. A big first step would be to build some more honest news outlets (print and broadcast) in California’s major cities. Right now, the people there get 24/7/365 communistic and pro-IslamoNazi lies, distortions, and just plain propaganda. Its hard for folks to see clearly when they’re being blinded all the time by such rubbish
Meanwhile, the Communist Chinese continue to buy up more and more of California. So much so that over half of all property purchases in many cities are now Chinese. and since Money talks, BS walks......maybe Cali going to the PRC might be the future, anyway?
On second thought, California will not be allowed to secede until all illegal immigrants have been expelled from her. Then secession of those California counties that vote to secede will be considered. Some might be allowed, some not.
