Caroline Kennedy lost her Ambassador post in Japan when Trump took office. He sent her packing and hasn’t even bothered to name a replacement.
But according to the New York Post, she’s not done with public service. Kennedy is planning to run for the U.S. senate in 2018.
First, she’s going to be penning a memoir, but then she’ll be getting down to work. She plans to follow in the footsteps of her uncle Robert Kennedy, and run for a New York senate seat.
She plans to target the seat of Democratic Senator Kristen Gillibrand. Or she could run for Rep. Kristen Gillibrand’s House seat instead.
This is great news for progressives. Caroline Kennedy has the Kennedy name and recognition, but none of the baggage.

Kennedy has a net worth...Kennedy trust funds.
She has much of the popularity of Elizabeth Warren and Hillary Clinton among Progressives, but no baggage. So securing campaign donations won’t be a problem.
But her aspirations don’t end there. According to an unnamed source, “Caroline had a successful ambassadorial run in Japan and feels really very confident about putting her hat in the ring for a New York congressional or Senate seat, with even possibly bigger political objectives down the road”
“Down the road” could include a run for president in 2020. She would be a strong candidate to run against the Republicans.

I had not seen a photo of her in years so I did a search.
She has not aged well.

As I recall from the last time her political ambitions bubbled up to the surface, the woman revealed herself to be as dumb as a toad. I was embarrassed for her.
All of her socialite trust fund experience will come in handy as commander in chief and president. /s
Not nearly. They all wrap themselves in JFK nostalgia, and champion whatever progressive nonsense is current, but they differ in appeal and ability. Caroline is almost completely lacking in political skill and comes across as very shallow and inarticulate, more pitiable than anything else. She is Hillary Clinton without the corruption and viciousness.
OMG - this drives me CRAZY when people do this ! If you start listening, you hear people doing this everywhere. I always thought that radio talk show screeners should listen for this before putting someone on the air. I turn the station if I hear a caller or an interview guest doing this.

You know is annoying to the point that I can’t stand listening is Fred Barnes. He’s the worst. I can take him for about 30 seconds and the vocalized pauses are aggravating.
This is the second young Kennedy floated by the media. Democrats really are stuck on dynasties, aren’t they? Even Republicans said “no more Bushes”.
But you will never be the Grand Pensionary! I got dibs on that !

Kinda like they pulled out ole Jason Carter (Jimma’s grandson) and Michelle Nunn (Sam Nunn’s daughter) to run for office here in GA; governor and senator, respectively.
Both got creamed.
A Kennedy running for office is historic? Because she’s the only one who isn’t a drunken rapist?
So the brilliant master plan goes like this:
1- Write a memoir to remind people your daddy was President 50 years ago.
2- Get elected to the US Senate by beating an entrenched DemocRAT incumbent.
3- Then a miracle occurs.
4- PRESIDENT!

I noticed that too. I wonder if Paul is amused to discover that he's just a placeholder in Kirsten's seat. I suppose the underlying idea is that "once a woman's seat, always a woman's seat."
Look at Hillary in NY; she had no ties there at all. They looked for a reliably Dem seat and got her in...
And John rolls over in his grave as he watches what’s left of the family legacy crumble to dust.

I’d suspect Gillibrand would have something to say about that. A debate between the two will be interesting. Caroline “YouKnow” Kennedy isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed.
And how exactly does winning a Senate seat in deep-blue NY amount to a “defeat” for Trump?
