They are indeed political appointees who can be fired, despite reports to the contrary by the MSM. Some are career civil service, so they won’t be out of Foggy Bottom completely.

Not even Reagan went after Foggy Bottom.

They didn’t resign. The traitors were fired.

That’s it? LOL - the media made like the whole department just up and quit in protest of having to work for Tillerson.

Thank God!

Hopefully more Obama leftovers will “self-drain” themselves.

When you consider they were part of the screw ups at Benghazi and the Iranian deal, they can’t get the office fumigated any faster. Pew!

“Breitbart is reporting that this is a lie. They were fired.”

Now that makes sense. People don’t give up powerful, well-paid jobs on a whim, even if they hate the new boss.

Here’s my guess. Trunp’s audit team has found some real problems, perhaps centered on the missing six billion dollars that just vanished one day on Hillary’s watch. It’s doubtful any of these players took any money, but they could have seen it transferred to things it wasn’t supposed to be used for. An example might be supporting Isis by funneling money to third party arms sellers or something similar.

If this is the case, look for indictments about a year down the road. (Gears of justice grinding slowly, but coarsely.)

"Not even Reagan went after Foggy Bottom."

Well, he should have. The experience I've had with State is that there way too many homos in senior positions.

It’s just a half hearted effort to screw Trump over.

The four resigned their high level positions but not their employment.

Only Kennedy is actually leaving.

He is taking retirement while the other three expect to be reassigned to a different position within the State dept.

But these guys are like cockroaches. For every couple cockroaches you get, another hundred are left behind.

I’m sure that Trump is developing a special pest control team. Inevitably many moles will intentionally stay on with the specific purpose of sabotaging Trump and leaking classified and damaging info to the enemedia.

Changing the culture will help. Many will leave becuse they no longer have favored group/enhanced rights status that so necessary for low esteem and entitled leftists, minorities, LGBT. Others will not like the policies and give up. But it’s the dedicated 5th column commie subversives that deserve special attention. We need lots of audits and IG reports.

From CNN’s full story on the matter:

All four, career officers serving in positions appointed by the President, submitted letters of resignation per tradition at the beginning of a new administration.

The letters from the White House said that their resignations were accepted and they were thanked for their service.

The White House usually asks career officials in such positions to stay on for a few months until their successors are confirmed.

“Any implication that that these four people quit is wrong,” one senior State Department official said. “These people are loyal to the secretary, the President and to the State Department. There is just not any attempt here to dis the President. People are not quitting and running away in disgust. This is the White House cleaning house.”

Jim Sciutto (CNN) tweeted they were FIRED!
