Carl Edwards remains a hot topic in NASCAR, two weeks after his abrupt retirement as a full-time driver.
Terry Smith, a political science professor at Columbia College, speculated in a Wednesday piece for KBIA's Talking Politics that Edwards will challenge U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill in Missouri next year. McCaskill, a Democrat, is in her second term.
Edwards didn't exactly rule it out when reached by The Associated Press. He texted: "I believe firmly in the principles that the U.S. was founded upon. If I could help, I definitely would consider it."

McCaskill needs to be gone and only won by the skin of her teeth in 2012 because some idiot took a reporter's bait on rape exceptions and struck out.

As long as Trump does his job then Claire McCaskill is going to be in deep trouble unless she supports his agenda completely. If Trump is having issues getting things through Congress then he can take a field trip to Missouri and tell the people “We are having a HUUUUGE problem in Washington right now. Claire McCaskill keeps blocking everything that needs to be done. She has been lying. [Examples of her lies]. She has been hurting the people of Missouri. [Examples of how she is hurting them.] We are putting America first but she is putting America and Missouri last. I can’t drain the swamp as long as she is in the Senate. Get her out.”
If only NASCAR oval races were run clockwise! Then Carl wouldn’t have been trained to go left most of the time!

Call Edwards is a great story, mother was a single mom. He grew up lower-middle-class he worked as a mechanic at a dealership. raced on the side. Built his own cars and finnally got noticed and has done very well for himself .he’s well-liked and he’s a good guy.
McCaskill beat blundering Akin by 15 points, which is a lot of skin on those teeth.
She’s nearly certain to be gone in 2018 because she’s an old ultra-liberal and Missouri is a deep blue (I don’t accept the media’s redefined colors) state at the moment.
Edwards or not, the Republicans have many good candidates to choose from for this race and she very well may decide not to run, which makes the pickup even more of a slam dunk as the Rats have nobody much to choose from.
