I did not make a claim, I asked a question.

You are dodging. You even admitted that you couldn't find the allegation in a web search.

Let's turn that line of questioning around on you, and see how you like it, but at the same time let's also pretend that you are dead and can't defend yourself from the slight:

"Aren't you the guy that kicks puppy dogs and when their owners aren't looking you slip them poison that is strong enough to kill them and you love to watch the puppies writhe in pain until they die, right?"

Hey, I was only asking a question, I didn't make a claim.

Review the thread. I asked a question, I did not assert. If you want to twist a question into an assertion, that’s your issue.

And it turns out she equated embryos to goldfish. My question is not without basis.

Sorry to burst your bubble about your heroine.

I remember how wonderful she was in Thoroughly Modern Millie, as well. Mary, Julie Andrews, Carol Channing. A really FUN movie!

They call me Robert Petrie and I live in New Rochelle
With my wife Laura and son Ritchie
But now my life’s a living hell cause...

I tripped over the ottoman
One too many times
I tripped over the ottoman
Until I lost my mind

Standards & Practices still required separate beds at the time (1961). I think “Bewitched” was the first to show a double/queen size bed, I could be wrong.

From 1961-1966 in "The Dick Van Dyke Show" Laura Petrie was, to my 14 to 19 year old mind, a sexy symbol.

Those Capri pants that she wore... 1 showed she had the cutest and all-round sexiest hind end around--

All the other ways she dressed... (2) just melted my heart and put my teenage hormones in hyper-drive.

And, boy, oh, boy-- Could she dance... (3) sexy!

And in later years as an older single woman in "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" she still--

Had... (4) it!

In all my years on the Loony Left Coast at different times from the 1970s through the 90s, I never actually met Mary Tyler Moore, yet I recall seeing her several times at eateries here and there around La La Land.

Once when I was out driving the afternoon of the 1973 Emmy Awards as a limo pulled up beside me at a traffic light and suddenly I hear the voice of Mary Richards saying, "I don't know why he would think that.."

I turn my head to the left and I see the rear passenger side window rolling up beside me and through it I see Mary Tyler Moore sitting on the far side of the back seat, dressed to the nines, her hair done up very sexy and taking a drink from a Coca-Cola bottle. The window rolls up and it being heavily tinted, I could not see any more. (No pun intended) The limo then pulled away and I hear a horn behind me blaring at me for not moving with the traffic.

Later I was watching the Emmy Awards-- Yes, back then they were lots of fun to watch.

And she won... (5) wearing the exact dress I saw her wearing in the back of that limo--

That is the closest I every got to her yet I always enjoyed her acting, she was very much comic gold in "The Dick Van Dyke Show" and her own "The Mary Tyler Moore Show." And in somehow true 'Hollywood Fashion' that the only time she got nominated for the 'Best Actress' Academy Award for her role in the drama film Ordinary People, where she played against type the cold fish mother who puts maintaining her composure above the real needs of her family.

So, to quote Alan Swan from My Favorite Year: 'On his death bed, Kean was asked how he felt. He answered, "Dying is easy. Comedy is hard."'

No one really knows if the English actor Edmund Kean every really said that, he died in 1833-- But whoever said it, it surely fits.

So Goodbye Mary, we hardly knew ya, but what we knew, what we saw, we loved.

And the bathroom had no toilet too, right? Cause taking a leak is a sin? I hate to say it but that’s some Taliban level nonsense.

“Mary Kay and Johnny” a long lost show from the long lost Dumont network was the first to show a couple share a bed. No images of the show exist.

Who was first post-Taliban seems to be unclear

http://www.snopes.com/radiotv/tv/marykay.asp

The Munsters are mentioned. And apparently it was ok for Fred and Wilma.

I was looking at old White House Pictures, the Harrisons slept in separate twin beds. LOL.

Some Presidents of course did not even share a bedroom with their wives, Kennedy, ironically, I believe was the last.

Ray, your "question" and subsequent posts nails your position on Mary Tyler Moore as well as how you really feel about her-- And there just ain't any love there.

Neither found is any class nor humor--

Your opinion is noted here and while you have every right to have an opinion about her and her views, whatever they may have been, this thread was aimed at remembering her acting and loveliness-- Not her political views right, left or center.

So, assuming everyone else here has an orifice to defecate with, the necessary quota is filled-- So, why don't you go be with others of your ilk that are equally classless, humorless and standing neck deep in eons old manure in the center of Hades?

Now, Mary would find that... funny!

It's truly a shame that, far far too often, threads that should be/were intended as a brief time out for reflection and a short break from all the utter muck 'out there' end up as food fights.

It would behoove us to be better than that, and that's directed at myself as much as to anyone.

Cheers, FRiends, and

Goodbye Mary . . .

Of course, Imp, in later years, Laure and Rob found different ways... to relax--

But that is for one of Ray76's future hate threads... at another time--

WE are all better than that, except for one here trying to derail the thread. That’s the only one your post should have gone to.
