What a ridiculous article. Taking down a web page does not in any way remove the data it is accessing. Either the staffer is an idiot or doesn’t exist and this is just another hit piece.
Staffer has never heard of the Internet Archive Wayback Machine apparently.
Beat me to it. We’re talking about re-directing a link. Nothing more.
This is a complete Nothing in terms of “losing years of work”.
Not ridiculous. Getting rid of the propaganda front-end.
But it hides it from the public which is what the intention is, and why the EPA staffer is crying.
Take it down, now!
This person seems to have violated the gag rule.
Yeah, but here is the thing, they said, “...years of work we have done on climate change will disappear...”
That is an accurate statement. We will not be able to see it. It’s a classic example of telling the truth, knowing full well most readers will infer something else.
I actually use that tactic myself from time to time. ;-)
Thank you - a web page is nothing more than a set of folders with inter-linking.
Here's hoping the "staffer" who leaked this is taken care of - like out on the street.
Yes, the date it will still be there but all the propaganda effectiveness will be greatly minimize because it will no longer be accessible and interactive. He’s probably talking about saving the code and the supporting files & datbases of the site and its interactive tools the they can re-create most of at some NGO website.
The raw data on temperature, the unadjusted data, is valuable for science and I’m sure other departments like NOAA, NASA, etc. will retain data that is valuable.
Watch the leftists scream and cry when all the climate change/anthropogenic global warming/chicken little grant money dries up.
Great day.
It reminds of a scene from Zoolander, Where he thought the monitor held the wisdom, because that's where the pretty colors came out.
