Thousands of hopeful Donald Trump supporters without tickets to the inauguration ceremony lined up Friday, trying to gain access through general admission, hoping to celebrate a historic moment. Those hopes were crushed as long lines turned into waits longer than four hours and caused supporters to miss the live ceremony.
Attendees started lining up at the checkpoint on Sixth Street one of the only checkpoints open to the non-ticketed public since 9 a.m., yet some were stuck in the chilly, rainy weather until 2 p.m., two hours after President Trump was sworn in as the 45th president of the United States.

“Free speech” - to leftists- has always meant shouting down opposing viewpoints.
You are four days late to the party.
Does this land on Trump or Bammy’s plate?
True... when counting the crowds who attended, the waiting people aren’t in the count. Attempt to suppress the big party for Trump?
The one who is half Caucasian.
Poster is bringing new info to us about 6th St. checkpoint troubles. No reason to criticize them.
I volunteered to help with the inauguration on Friday and the gates at 12th street on the southside of the mall was closed for almost an hour at 10:00 am. Around 11 I saw a whole lot of people streaming in to the mall and they said it was some type of security incident. When President Trump took the oath, all sections except the section in the back by the temporary media setup was filled with people.
The suspect photo was probably taken at 10:30 am. Nice try globalist.
I am totally confused by these stories. The CNN high res picture shows people in just about every available space except for a couple of areas that looked like they may have been reserved for special people or something.
I’ve been following this issue as a group from my sons high school waited 5 hours and still were not able to get onto the mall. They ended up at the Washington Monument when he took the oath. We were fortunate to be given tickets at the last minute that allowed us to get a better spot and not have to wait in long lines. Communication was poor though as I and apparently many others read that they changed the policy on umbrellas at the last moment and were allowing collapsible umbrellas. At the security check though they said it was not true and there were huge boxes full of umbrellas that people had to discard.
So this is what Trump’s answer to why the crowd was smaller than Obama’s should have been: “If the Democrats in DC had the ability to organize a three car funeral procession, tens of thousands of Trump supporters wouldn’t have missed the ceremony because they were unable to get through the security lines in less than four hours and the police were so busy protecting the protesters that they couldn’t keep the peace.”
It is starting to look like this was organized to keep the crowd as small as possible.
