Katie Rich, a “Saturday Night Live” writer since 2013 and actress with limited credits, decided to smear President Donald Trump’s 10-year-old son Barron in a tweet Friday.
The NBC employee tweeted, “Barron will be this country’s first homeschool shooter.”
Rich’s tweet was deleted and her tweets are now “protected,” which means she must approve people before they can see them. But the Internet is forever.
The blowback was immediate.

By “respected”, I hope you mean the media left them alone. I would hate to think that you were praising (respecting) them for some behavior or quality we were never privy to.
The parents themselves were hailed as FABULOUS parents as were the Clintons and we were supposed to believe that because they all HELD HANDS walking up or down the steps of Air Force One or walking across the south lawn of the WH. Never could figure out why they had to hold their parents hands even when they became teenagers but what the heck!!!

Her “apology tweet” was sent out at the same time of day on Jan 23rd. Mighty slow moving moving brain figuring out her tweet was inexcusable. 3 days for the SNL execs to read through twitter and face book kickback and to locate the bitch.

And just how many public school graduates do you think are here among freepers? I would suspect that the majority of freepers all had public school educations and probably some had liberal college educations and yet, are they indoctrinated in liberalism? Your statement is not valid. So think before you repeat what is canned rhetoric. How many people do you work or associate with who had public school educations?
I was talking about the inability to type a sensible statement without resorting to the current fad of social media which requires nothing except counting characters as far as I understand it which may as well be Greek to those of us who don’t tweet or twitter or titter or whatever. I don’t dabble in social media so I’m only going with what my public school education taught me - how to read and write and reason!
I see at least she didn’t say she was apologizing IF HER COMMENTS OFFENDED SOME PEOPLE. That’s a start in the right direction but good that she’s been suspended. Perhaps it will send a message to other nitwits who think it’s cute to bully a 10 year old child! She obviously has hangups.....

I simply asked if she wrote a true apology or just deleted her post. Someone posted the apology and I see it was an apology. I’ve already posted that I was glad to see it was a real apology and not one that was the typical “I’m sorry if I offended anyone” apology.
What’s with the defensive - “you can forgive it or not forgive it”. I ASKED A QUESTION is all it amounted to. I would hope that people would begin to settle down and stop bristling at every post/reply someone makes now that we have Trump in the WH where he belongs. RELAX for crying out loud!

When someone like Rich goes through the motions to apologize or make good I feel obliged to cut them the benefit of the doubt as you do.
