Moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem would be in direct contradiction to the standing U.S. policy on this issue is laid out in the Declaration of Principles (1993) and the Interim Agreement (1995) on Palestine. Israel is a signatory to both of these documents.

Why would the U.S. move its embassy to a location that its host country has formally recognized as a jurisdiction with an uncertain and temporary legal status?

He's the opposite of a moron. The question is whether or not his particular national agenda is one that best serves the interests of the American people.

OK -- fine.

If you think he's the opposite of a moron, then he's a calculating, devious son of a bitch who should be ostracized by the U.S. government and permanently banished from U.S. soil.

You are kidding, right?

The U.S. Media had everything to do with that decision. They preached “diversity is strength” forever, they continually pushed on how we were in Iraq illegitimately. They publicized every claim that we were a “new crusade”.

We probably would have taken out Iran, or at least have made a settlement with them, but Bush had everything he could handle to finance the war with the media pushing for immediate withdrawal and defeat all the time, and driving public opinion against him.

Trump’s election has exposed to a majority of the public just how much power the media has had in the past.

Every other politician was bowing down to the media.

The media ran the show in the U.S., at least since McCarthy.

Reagan managed to get elected and re-elected with a campaign that recognized that the media was the enemy, but he could not overcome the establishment. The Media demonized him and marginalized his acomplishments.

Nixon knew the media was the enemy; they took him out with the media coup known as “Watergate”.

Donald Trump has been pretty adamant that the U.S. has been engaging in irresponsible, expensive foreign affairs for a long time.

On what basis would we have "taken out Iran?" That would have been just one more in a long line of foreign policy disasters.

The media didn't have to drive public opinion against Bush. The public knew it had enough of that @sshole when they would open their newspapers one day and read a list of casualties in Iraq and Afghanistan, then go out the next day and see a horde of illegal Mexican immigrants hanging around their local convenience store waiting to get picked up by contractors and landscapers. George W. Bush is less popular than a child molester in the U.S. right now because most Americans looked at that sh!t and figured out that they didn't even live in a real country anymore.

In Chad Bush imposed a peace without much fanfare. His administration contacted the three major oppositon groups and tried to get them to the table - but no deal. After this failed it was widely reported that opposition leadership were being killed. In the second round of leaders the oppositon remained opposed to peace... there was a second round of assinations and by the time the third generation of opposition leadership got the negotiating table they accepted a peace deal which they honored. At least that was the long and short of the story I heard at the time. Maybe this is the way forward - forward being a word they use and understand in leftist circles.

Iran supplied enormous amounts of aid to various groups fighting us both in Iraq and Afghanistan. They supplied lots of weaponry and technical expertise in IEDs.

Iran was ripe for an overthrow. They have been at war with us while we have been unwilling to fight back effectively. There were lots of actions we could have taken short of an invasion. Iran had only one refinery, for example.

“The media didn’t have to drive public opinion against Bush.”

Complete B.S. The Media created the anti-bush mindset from the start. Afghanistan and Iraq would have been popular wars if the Media supported them.

But they did not.

Have you forgotten Abu Ghraib? The entire fabrication of the Valierie Plame case? The inflation and nit-picking of every minor set-back? The complete lie that there were no weapons of mass destruction found?

It is almost impossible to conduct a war without public support. The Media did everything they could do to insure a Bush loss.

As soon as Obama took over... Silence or adulation.

The land issue is a primary issue for the move, and it was when I was on my first tour in Tel Aviv with State from 2004-2006. The current American Embassy (Tel Aviv) is located in a old building that includes the remants of a parking garage in basement. Land was offered and on the table but no administration has accepted that land in Tel Aviv simply because the embassy will go to J-rue someday. To the best of my knowledge no land has been identified in J-rue; the Consulate in J-rue is the the defacto Pali-Embassy as I was cautioned numerous times before going there to porvide IT infrastucture support for POTUS/SecState visists.

because jits the right decent honest thing to do. And erusalem is Israel’s capitol ( and the previous situation with Israel trying so hard “ for peace” to give the islamonazis what they demanded — has met with repeated rejection from the enemy — they’ll consider taking more gifts of Israel’s land but they consistently refuse to agree to live in peace with her or anyone else for that matter. It is both stupid and embarrassing for USA to matintain false fictions and persist in parroting sicko, self- defeating “policies” that only serve to ally us with the islamonazi mass murder gangs obama so loved and enabled. It’s long LONG past time for us to clean the Nazis out of our Snake department and get American “policy” on a morally- defensible, decent track consistent with American values ( and NOT those of obama, Islam, or Hitler). . The disgusting treachery deceit and just plain filth in our foreign policies—, backstabbing of our allies, and support/ financing, and arming of Nazi - style Islamic murder gangs like Isis, PLO/pa, their parent organization the Muslim brotherhood -and making sure the Iranian “kill the Great Satan America “ islamonazis get nuclear icbms — all this will now be reversed as DJT drains the swamp. Thank The Lord!!

Iraq and Afghanistan were "popular wars" when the Bush administration -- and even Democrats jumping on the post-9/11 bandwagon -- were lying to the American people about what was going on there.

And if supplying arms is sufficient reason to overthrow a foreign government, then the U.S. has been asking to be overthrown for decades.

There's an even more important reason why the U.S. never took any action against Iran during the Bush administration. There's a pretty strong case to be made that the whole purpose of the invasion of Iraq was to destabilize the country for the benefit of Iran. After doing a little background research on the subject I decided that Ahmed Chalabi was probably an Iranian mole in the Bush administration.

Heck -- If Iran had set out in 2003 to come up with its own game plan for establishing its dominance in the region, it couldn't have come up with a better plan than the one the Bush administration put together.

That’s the fact - not fake: silly liberal media:

The Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995 is a public law of the United States passed by the 104th Congress on October 23, 1995. It was passed for the purposes of initiating and funding the relocation of the Embassy of the United States in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, no later than May 31, 1999, and attempted to withhold 50 percent of the funds appropriated to the State Department specifically for “Acquisition and Maintenance of Buildings Abroad” as allocated in fiscal year 1999 until the United States Embassy in Jerusalem had officially opened.

Yup, I misspoke. It was Egypt and SYRIA that Israel was on the cusp of conquering after they invaded Israel in ‘73.
