Too good to check: Warren in trouble in 2018?
Hot Air ^ | January 23,2017 | Ed Morrissey

The Left keeps insisting that unvarnished progressivism holds the key to future Democratic Party success. A new poll from WBUR suggests it might not even be the future of Democratic success in Massachusetts. Only 44 percent think Elizabeth Warren should win another term in the Senate, while slightly more say they’ve seen enough:

Over four years in office, Elizabeth Warren has staked her claim as the Senate’s liberal lion. And many Massachusetts voters like it — 51 percent view her favorably.

But according to a new WBUR poll, only 44 percent think Warren “deserves reelection.” Forty-six percent think voters ought to “give someone else a chance.”

“No one’s going to look at a 44 percent reelect number and think that that’s a good number,” said Steve Koczela, president of The MassINC Polling Group, which conducts surveys for WBUR. “No one’s going to look at it being close to even between ‘reelect’ and ‘give someone else a chance’ and think that that’s reassuring.”

How did it get this bad? WBUR’s analysis shows that Baker gets broad support across the political spectrum. Even among Democrats, Baker wins a solid +12 plurality for seeking a second term, 48/36, and 50/26 among independents. Warren, on the other hand, gets a 5/92 from Republicans and a 40/46 among independents — and a surprisingly weak 61/32 from Democrats. Talk about a lack of reassurance!

Curt Schilling is announced for the Senate. While I like him he has too much baggage to win in Massachusetts.

The quicker Democrats jettison the Socialist Progressive wing of the party the better they can survive the Trump Revolution and the new order of the world. Go back to JFK Democratic Party and they might win some future elections. The new road isn’t the one Warren is walking in her moccasins.

Even MA has its limits.

Go listen to the video of the woman kicked off the plane for harassing the Trump supporter. Close your eyes and you would sweat that was smarmy Lizzy Warren spouting off.

One of the ways they got Kerry re-elected in MA was for all the news outlets to insist that he was running unopposed. His opponent got 20% of the vote, which was pretty good since the Boston Globe never mentioned his name.

So Warren can get re-elected if the Party deems it important enough.

Then again she may run for governor.

Don’t Murray’s peers vote her the “Dumbest Senate Member” on an annual basis?

I see a possible phenomenon in America (this is probably not rocket science, but I think it's why we may be able to suspect that despite Trump's narrow'ish victory, the victory was much larger.)

Liberals, and democrats ... are to a large extent followers - of people, but especially ideas, and especially especially the predominant ideas being batted about. They don't examine ... they unconsciously absorb the idea that is repeated most often - where there is not physical proof, which they can't be troubled to look for, or rational proof - far too lazy for that, they default to the number of times something is repeated and how popular an idea APPEARS. This has been the liberal strategy of bombarding America through the media with such repetition that their totally-against-common sense ideas (men are women etc.) are revealed truth.

The election of Trump - while it's good narrative-wise because to a certain extent he'll have the bully pulpit which itself will increase the number of times a rational idea makes its way into the discussions ... those who believed progressivism was inevitable simply because it seemed so - and who just support whatever they think is going to win, and hence would support an obvious nutcase like Liawatha, say 'well, I guess some people out there disagree' ... and that alone is enough to puncture the bubble for many of them.

It's not rocket science, but I suspect her lack of favorability has a hell of a lot more to do with the narrative bubble (Everyone is progressive except a few) having been shown to be a conjurer's doing, not anything real - than it has to do with attitudes towards her positions shifting. That is, MA is not becoming less progressive, it was just never really as progressive as it seemed. 25% of them just blow with whichever way they believe the wind to be blowing. They have just all seen proof it's not really blowing in the direction they were told. And while they are probably too afraid and invested to actually support Trump ... it's enough to cheer less for those they believed to be the beautiful correct righteous people.

Buildings quietly degrade structurally long before they lose their shape or actually fall down. This election seriously rocket the liberal building visibly on the outside - I'm not saying there was no visible destruction ... but I suspect there is even far more damage done to it's internals.

I guess it's similar to 9-11 -> we saw the planes hit and thought 'wow! lot of damage' ... but we didn't know the immediate visible damage was nothing compared what was actually accomplished by the hit ... that it would melt the internal structure and take the whole thing down 90 minutes later. Unlike the building, lefties will never go away ... but I think and hope that more internal structural damage has been done ... much more ... than even we see and know now.

There’s another guy who is thinking of running besides Schilling. I’m sorry, I can’t remember his name.

Angry, shrill, and dogmatic gets old in Mass? Lieawatha may have to move to Mexifornia, where Sen. Dumber-than-a Boxer-rocks rode it all the way to retirement.

Elizabeth Warren was seen as cowardly when she did not enter the Democrat primary. Very cowardly.

After all, she had a case of the big mouth, she was in elective office, she was urged to run, and she caved to the Clinton machine, blind to the broad revulsion of Hillary by Democrats, who really wanted a different candidate.

To have that big of a mouth, Warren should have put shoe leather to it and run.

Now she is just a harpy. Mika Brezinsky hurt Elizabeth with Democrats, when Mika said as much, and added that her nastiness was...”Enough”, already and she “should just STOP”.
