A surge of refugees to the Sacramento area has transformed San Juan Unified into the local epicenter for students from Afghanistan, Ukraine, Iraq and Syria.
As a result, the district has hired non-credentialed bilingual instructional assistants who speak Arabic, Farsi, Dari, Pashto and Ukrainian to help newcomers understand classroom lessons.

Yep. My mom came from Greece as a child in 1952. She and her 6 siblings, aged 4-17, were all put in kindergarten and moved up to the next grade when/as appropriate. Her parents never learned English so school was the place the kids all learned.
The perfect environment to encourage, train, support and enable koranimal terrorists. Learning English and American culture is the last thing on their tiny beastly minds.
There in no longer a "spanish" option for either phone calls into the White house or on the White House Web site. : )

I think it was the best way. I once wanted to move to France for a year so my kids could learn French. This of course wouldn’t have worked if they had been taught in English.
Just so you know.
You’re not the only one.
3,000 students/refugees?
Are these public schools actual schools, or just masquerading as refugee processing and resettlement centers?
Ridiculous!!
GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is BS. We don’t need more muslims.
They’re here. They aren’t leaving. And they will multiply.
They'll be leaving soon.
I taught school in the fifties.
Kids that couldn’t speak English were just sat down in a seat and ignored———and all teaching was done in English.
Within 6 months most were English speakers-—and often the head of the class.
Immersion works.

I live in Asheville. We have Spanish and Ukrainian.
Or Latin Americans.
My family immigrated to San Francisco when I was 9. The only special help we got, maybe, was speaking slower at times, and slang.
Within two years I was consistently among the top three students in the class.
We had lots of immigrant company then, from all over the world, and not a foulmouth or thug among them, that I can remember.
President Trump is planning on solving that problem for them.
...you simply were refused citizenship. Residence yes, citizenship, NEVER.
When "Balkanization" was ignored as a dangerous concept.
“A surge of refugees to the Sacramento area has transformed San Juan Unified into the local epicenter for students from Afghanistan, Ukraine, Iraq and Syria.”
I hope everyone sees the pattern here. Whenever the US gets involved in a war/coup/revolution in a third world country, there is a flood of immigration from that country.
Let’s not forget that the Orlando terrorist, Omar Mateen, was only here in the USA because his father got a visa from the Reagan administration as part of the US effort to arm and support the terrorists there. The same thing is going on with Syrian migrants now.
We have to learn from this and stop repeating the same mistakes.
Me too! #19
