Donald Trump shut down negotiations to get a huge rock band at one of his Inaugural balls ... in order to cut costs and potentially save tens of millions for charity. Inauguration sources tell us the Committee was close to landing a legendary group -- one that's in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame -- but when the President-elect found out they wanted more than $1 million for the gig he pulled the plug.
We're told Trump implored the rockers to reduce their appearance fee -- but when they refused he told the Inaugural Committee to move on to other artists. Mind you, there's plenty of dough. The Committee's reportedly received more than $90 million in donations, but we're told Trump instructed all involved to keep expenses in the low millions because whatever is left over is going to charity.
Just heard from a very reliable source at CNN, and you can take this one to the bank. REady?
The Beachboys
Elton John was worth $1,000,000, actually more, to Rush Limbaugh for one gig consisting of 6 songs.
Are you telling me SAM THE SHAM & THE PHARAOHS is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Johnny Rivers isn’t? The whole thing is a (sam the) SHAM!
It was released yesterday that the Beach Boys will be playing for the Inaugural Ball put on by Texas in DC. It should be great a ball.
Johnny Rivers helped Al Lewis produce “The Snake”.
Probably not The Eagles. Don Henley is a flaming lib to the point of insanity.
I’d heard that Marie Osmond would be happy to perform. I know she’s not “A List” any more, but she does a good job and she’s a decent person. I’d rather see her than some of the popular hacks out there performing now.
“I keep thinking that theres going to be a surprise guest inaugural concert performance for some reason...”
Lee Greenwood was on F&F this morning and said it’s going to be a great show, but he wasn’t free to give any more info. So I believe you might be correct.
“so many people are afraid to perform.”
So many big, strong men are afraid to perform, but a 16-year-old girl hangs in there and does the right thing. Go figure.
They are in the Hall of Fame of our hearts.
Musta been ZZ TOP...
