President-elect Donald Trump still has a friend in Garth Brooks despite the country singer turning down the opportunity to sing at his inauguration.

Brooks explained he's all about "People Loving People" and is "praying" for Trump but due to a scheduling conflict, he ultimately had to turn down performing on January 20.

from Chicago Tribune, 1994

“In the interview, Brooks talks about such subjects as his growing disillusionment with Nashville and some of its young performers as well as his hope that his daughter, Taylor, will grow up to do something-such as work for the United Nations, perhaps-to try to make the world a better place, a place whose residents all feel closer to one another.”

He’s having just three balls instead of the 10 Obama had. He’s having people like Lee Greenwood, various military bands etc.

Brooks’ statement from 1994 was mild compared to the standard liberal rhetoric you hear from entertainment types. However, he would not dare to go much further. Additionally, he is 54 years old, and is 13 years younger than Bruce Springsteen and Meryl Streep. Thus he has much more to lose financially. Springsteen and Streep are eligible for Social Security and have little to lose from angry conservatives, who are likely a small fraction of their customer base. Country music, even the countrified pop music he sings, does not have much of an audience in Manhattan, San Francisco, and such places. The Dixie Chicks mostly tour in Canada, Australia, and Europe these days.

Why would he lose financially by performing at the inauguration? Millions more of Trump supporters would flock to him. I understand Jackie Evancho is profiting nicely from her inaugural gig. He’s a coward AND an idiot.

Brooks is possibly as liberal as Springsteen and Streep, but has to stay “in the closet” on account of the political leanings of much of his audience. The problem of canceling concert dates is likely just a thin excuse to get out of performing at the Trump inaugural.

Isn’t Brooks pro-homosexual?

Garth Brooks should start singing in French and use a white flag to go with it.

How does Garth Brooks protect his ticket sales by pi$$ing off Trump supporters? How many leftist, snowflake, lgbtxyz, racial pimps listen to his type music?

If you ask me Brooks falls somewhere in the groups listed above and he found the Trump gig distasteful.

Garth and Trisha Yearwood make a big deal about being born again Christians, talk about their “preacher”, having the preacher over for dinner, etc. If all of this is true, they would be natural conservatives and would likely be in strong support of Donald Trump.

I am wary about both Garth and Trisha because BOTH of them were married to other spouses when they met and started an affair. Garth was actually a serial cheater, cheated on his first wife with multiple women. Garth and Trisha both deny the affair and say they only started dating after their divorces were final.

Right.

Well, I don’t think he’s afraid of losing revenue. He’s retired multiple times. I think it was a personal, political decision.

And with his decision.... it’s not hard to see what side of the fence he’s on.

I don’t know anything about them being Christians.....

They talk about it a lot. However, I wonder if they were put on trial for being Christians, would they be convicted based on evidence? :0) LOL

I’m wary of Amy Grant and Vince Gill for the same reasons. Amy started out as a Christian pop singer. But then she and Vince (both married to others) had a torrid affair, left their spouses and got married. But they are good Bible thumping Christians now—that’s what they talk about, anyway. That’s their story and they’re sticking to it.

If he had really cared about doing it he would have rescheduled his concert.....performers do it all the time. Same with Gene Simmons!!!

He is more concerned about his ticket sales than performing at the inauguration.

So he is NOT BOOKED ANYWHERE ON INAUGURATION DAY...His Cincinnati concerts are on the Sat. 21 and Sun 22...throught the 28th!! He could not perform on Friday and then fly from DC to Cincinnati? I call BULLSH%T on his LAMEA$$ EXCUSE. He just doesn’t want to do it and is backpedalling!!!

He’s not very bright is he? As he is a Country Music Star,
I suspect far more of his ticket sales have been by Red State Trump Supporters than Leftist Hollywood...

His ticket sales will suffer as word gets out about his lying ditch and dodge of the inauguration!

SHAME ON HIM!

ONE DAY 23 HOURS UNTIL LIBERATION!!!

Full(er) disclosure: Not being much of a modern C&W connessur (sp), I'm not too familiar with Brooks' work except maybe for "I've Got Friends in Low Places".
