I used to live not too far away, Caltrans can clear that pretty fast, they have some huge snow removal equipment because of the tourism to the casinos and ski resorts.
I’ve personally seen 5 feet on the ground on highway 50 at South Shore and it was removed in hours, its a non stop convoy of end dumps and an auger snow blower. Big huge thing you would expect on a train.
Emerald Bay is mostly cliffs above the road, they will just shoot it off into the water below. I miss living there.
This is California Concrete, not that light fluffy stuff.
Rain, snow, rain, snow.
“....they will just shoot it off into the water below.”
Probably not after the Lake Tahoe agreement. Enviros would go nuts.
We moved to SLT after college graduation from SDSU in the late 70s. Only stayed 6 months but it was a lot of fun. And it’s truly God’s Country.
