The National Weather Service forecasts new snowfall over the Echo and Donner passes from three storms between Wednesday and Monday.

Oh, oh, Donner Pass. Hope no one gets trapped up there in all that snow, if you know what I mean .....

There is a lot, I mean a lot of snow here in the High Sierra. Mountains of snow. Most people have no idea because all they heard about was the rain.

When this is over, any change we can get Lake Mead up to normal levels from all this?

I used to live not too far away, Caltrans can clear that pretty fast, they have some huge snow removal equipment because of the tourism to the casinos and ski resorts.

I’ve personally seen 5 feet on the ground on highway 50 at South Shore and it was removed in hours, its a non stop convoy of end dumps and an auger snow blower. Big huge thing you would expect on a train.

Emerald Bay is mostly cliffs above the road, they will just shoot it off into the water below. I miss living there.

I thought California politicians now control the climate? Wasn’t cow fart control, the be all end all in climatology.

Lake elevation is 6225.

I’m less then a mile from Emerald Bay and there is no where near 30 feet of snow. I’m very doubtful any part of 89 had 30 feet of snow on it unless there was an avalanche. We have 2.5 to 3 feet of snow on the ground.

The amount of snow on the ground is great, but nothing approaching spectacular. Much less then the last decent snow year we had which was back in 2009.

More snow predicted this week, but only a couple of feet. If we keep getting a foot or two of snow a week through April, it will end up as a good year - almost like the good old days, as they say.

This has to be FAKE NEWS, We all know that because of Man Made Global Warming this type of event is impossible, just ask Jerry Brown, Al Gore, or Leonardo DiCaprio.

Must have been a Studio Production.
