They are some of the biggest names in the Republican national security firmament, veterans of past GOP administrations who say, if called upon by President-elect Donald Trump, they stand ready to serve their country again.
But their phones aren’t ringing. Their entreaties to Trump Tower in New York have mostly gone unanswered. In Trump world, these establishment all-stars say they are “PNG” — personae non gratae.
Their transgression was signing one or both of two public “Never Trump” letters during the campaign, declaring they would not vote for Trump and calling his candidacy a danger to the nation.

During a national security forum last week at the U.S. Institute of Peace in Washington, K.T. McFarland, who was named Trump’s deputy national security adviser, opened her remarks by referring to the “elephant in the room.”
“Most of the people in this room didn’t support Donald Trump — maybe not at first or maybe ever,” she said. “And I suspect most of the people in this room didn’t think he’d win. But he has.”
Some of the “Never Trump” letters signers fear they are at the bottom of the pecking order, below those who expressed verbal opposition to Trump’s campaign but did not sign either of the letters.

That’s a shame. They don’t deserve that much.
This is beyond comical. Essentially, the argument is that a bunch of establishment do-nothings and go-along-ers are complaining that their do-nothing, go-along-ness isn’t getting them anywhere (possibly for the first time) politically.
It’s morning in America, folks. Wake up and smell the coffee, or go sip your mochacchino and cry in the corner.
WAPO is just mad that they have less moles in the Whitehouse.

It’s not like there are not others equally, or more qualified that aren’t back stabbers. Good for Trump, they are not at all to be trusted. They are traitors to him.
The WashPost makes a fake drama out of nothing.
Any of them that are needed will be hired by Trump.

Don’t give these folks false hope. With the minimum wage increases in many states, McDonald’s may be laying people off and introducing automated service. On the other hand, there could be more work for asphalt-layers if Trump’s infrastructure program gets off the ground. I’d love to see some of these never-Trump “national security” experts working on our county roads.
Trump conducted a hostile takeover of the GOP. It will still be called “the Republican party” and all, but it’s under new management, with a new mission and a new approach. Those who were entrenched in the old organization are surplus, obsolete, and redundant. Those who have needed skills and can put their previous opinions aside may have a future, Reince Priebus being the ultimate example of this. The rest, well just as all wars have casualties, all takeovers result in people losing their positions and having to find something else to do.
This is what winning looks like.
I’m sure those who opposed Obama were not offered positions in his administration. Somehow the compost didn’t think that was worthy of an article but this is. They are only trying to create more division and undermine the Trump administration with the implied message that his team is under-qualified. Bunch of pukes.

Well duh. Trump respects and expects loyalty. Of COURSE he’s going to kick ‘em to the curb. He’s the one who introduced most of us to “The Snake”, and they’re snakes (as you say).
why would they want to work for Trump? if he is all the things they said in the letter... he hasn’t changed his mind about the wall or illegals... so why would they want to work for him?
Trump needs to fire all the anti Semitic, anti Israel and pro Muslims that head almost all agencies. The head of the CIA IS a Muslim convert.
