Although no one wants to talk about it, part of the reason is that there is a DEMAND for US steel. Why? Because the stuff coming out of China is at best of "uneven quality" or, at most honest, complete junk.
But anyone who even thought about it was visited by the EPA who told them they would be regulated out of business.
Trump is showing signs of cutting the EPA down to size.

Imagine once again buying chainsaw blades that will actually stay sharp and bars that won’t wear out in two hours!

"Because the stuff coming out of China is at best of "uneven quality" or, at most honest, complete junk. The Chinese way of business....provide a good product in order to get the sale, then decrease the quality until the customer complains.
The Japanese way of business....Kaizen....continuously improve quality...indefinitely.
You can get away with the "Chinese way" temporarily, but eventually the customer twigs to the gyp.
Fool me once.......fool me twice......
