In the epic film Titanic, actress Kathy Bates plays the role of Margaret Molly Brown. Of Irish descent, Molly is depicted as a straight-shooting, no-nonsense, wealthy Texan with a penchant for social climbing. However, the smug, condescending aura, exuded by the elites, never washes over her. After escaping the sinking Titanic in a one-third empty lifeboat, surrounded mostly by married women and a few male staff, Molly is appalled by her fellow survivors callousness. Molly wants to rescue nearby male passengers, fighting for their lives in the frigid sea. Her lifeboat is less than 200 feet from the men screaming for help. The crew refuse, stating that the suction of the sinking ship will drag them under; rather than rowing towards the men, they must get away as quickly as possible. Undeterred, Molly persists:
I dont understand a one of you. Whats the matter with you? Its your men back there! We got plenty a room for more.
In response, Molly is told that if she says another word, there will be one less occupant in the boat. None of the other passengers come to Mollys defense. And so they leave; their sons, brothers, husbands and fathers knowingly betrayed and abandoned to await their cruel death.
The pejorative term white privilege has been hurled to date almost entirely against white males. This relatively new addition to Americas litany of purported sins is emerging as a core part of the lefts pantheon of victimization. Non-whites are now victims because Western European and American culture have extant societal structures conferring special privileges to white-skinned people. Especially, white-skinned male people. The only way to remedy this imbalance is to vilify white males and degrade their accomplishments. Concomitantly, income redistribution is justified and criminal behavior recharacterized and excused.

These campaigns of skin-shaming and civilizaiton-shaming have to stop They cannot be allowed to go on unopposed. It'll kill us --- all of us --- in the end.
Very well said and I cannot agree more.
As far as I know, that is not established fact in this particular case.
I can love and appreciate people of any color, and I have considerable mix in my own family.
I often repeat Dr. King's most admirable quote (tagline.)
I’m definitely out of touch. I thought the thread was about women’s college basketball, and the folly of thinking anyone will stand in the way of UConn, with their 90 game winning streak.
Do you believe that whites are superior to other races?
No. I just believe that white folks want the same thing everyone else wants. They want to live around white folks.
Timbuktu was on a trade route and influenced by outsiders, a form of Obama’s hated colonialism.
I spotted that as well. Stupid.
Thanks for the post.
Henceforth, I am going to refer to “white competence” any time I hear someone talk about “white privilege”.
P.S. I think “competence” is preferred over “competency” although the latter is gaining some traction.
Competence : Innocence :: Competency : Innocency
I don’t care about living around white people as opposed to other colors. Here’s MY preference: I want to live among people who are polite, law-abiding, not into street drugs, and not into sharia.
I consider myself white or as the government labels it, "Caucasian", but I always check "Other" just to keep them guessing.
If I went by national origin and was born in the USA, couldn't I check the block that says "US" or "American"? If so, why are there no blocks identified as such that I can check? Just wondering.
In that case, what do you want?
Exactly.
Maybe she and her family traveled through Texas to get to Colorado, but that doesn't mean she is from there.
I read the reader replies and none mentioned Molly Brown at all. Makes me wonder if they read the op-ed at all.
That is untrue. Martin Luther was right, the color of a person’s skin is irrelevant; the color of their character is everything.
Don’t let the MSN blind you to the truth. Black, white, brown or yellow we are all people, capable of greatness or of depravity.
Just because there are pockets of people who have fallen, due to the Democratic machine, racebaiters & influence peddlers and many of them are Black that says nothing about the potential of any particular Black person. A tremendous human resource is being wasted because the Uniparty is happy to keep people uneducated & beholding. The empty barrels make the most noise and the MSM is controlling what we see and hear.
I trust Trump to start reshaping the game so that working hard, staying in school, striving gets rewarded rather than having as many babies as you can by age 15. That is what is going to change the situation. Of course the Black people in those situations feel ripped off and angry, the problem is they don’t know who they should be angry with. Trump is starting to clue them in, shown by the increase in votes for him by Blacks vs prior Republicans. The time is ripe and I want to welcome all Americans to the table. With freedoms come responsibilities, they need to step up & take a seat.
The majority of Americans are Euro-white. Plus there are many who are not-exactly-Euro but still look pretty “light”. Still, I don’t see how the USA could be a “white nation.”.
Argentina could be; Iceland could be; but not the USA. More than a hundred million of us are non-white!
There was a long stretch there where the Brits -— they tell me -— didn’t regard *any* Americans as being “ really” white.
:)
Almost everything that you come in contact with on a daily basis was invented by a white man. Disagree? Write me up a list of things invented by others. I’ll wait.
It used to be they just had a box you filled in labeled “Race”.
I would regularly write in “human”.
Zanzibar flourished because it was the center of slave trade. No talk of white man's sins for engaging in slave trade can be completed without discussing Islam's central role in developing the same.
