Marco Rubio is back in the thick of it.

The Florida Republican, who reversed his decision to quit the Senate after his losing the GOP presidential nomination, suddenly finds himself at the center of the political intrigue swirling around Donald Trump's nascent administration.

Rubio's tough questioning Wednesday of Rex Tillerson, Trump's pick for secretary of state, and unresolved doubts about the former ExxonMobil chief's nomination, present him with a set of provocative political choices.

It seems to me, that with all the msm’s breathless reporting of Republicans at odds with each other, that they are attempting to deflect from the total disarray/circular firing squad occurring now in the Demorat party. That party is currently in a shambles, but the msm is covering for them, while at the same time blowing up every Republican figure at odds with another Republican. Not that it's not really happening, but every other article is about one Republican going after another one, while the shambles which is the Demorat party at present, is being completely ignored.

Rubio reminds me of Aesop’s fable about the frog and the bull. The frog puffs itself up, telling its fellow frogs that it’s just as big as the bull. Eventually, the frog puffs himself up so much that he finally bursts. I can’t wait to see the same happen to Marco.

Irrelevant, even if the Marco, Lindsey Graham and John McCain tried to form some anti-Trump cabal to kill Trump's nominees, there are several red state democrats such as Joe Manchin who have said they intend to vote for Tillerson, and since 50 votes is all it takes they will easily be confirmed with or without Marco and crew.

Exactly. I know that the likes of Rubio, McCain, Graham, are doing their usual backstabbing and grandstanding, but it’s like a pillow fight compared to what’s happening in the ‘rat party.

The left would like to, and is even discussing how, to separate out some of the “weak links” in the Republican chain, because that’s almost their only hope of influencing policy in the next 4-8 years.

What you say is entirely true, but it doesn't change the fact that Marco, McCain, and Graham are crypto-liberal scumbags. Crypto-liberals masquerading as conservatives Republicans have the potential to do more damage than liberal Democrats who acknowledge who/what they are.

We had to nominate Rubio for Senate to keep the seat in FL (it’s sad, but a more patriotic and honorable conservative would have lost the state). This is the price we chose to pay for a Senate majority. I hope in six years we will be able to afford the risk of dumping that petty, little man.

Does Florida have an open Senate primary? If so, then unfortunately Marco is probably as good as you can hope to get.

Rubio has shown that he is not presidential material. He is childish, petulant, and mercurial. He had a terrible attendance record in the senate and has reversed himself on all manner of issues. He’s another politician who just wants the job but not the responsibilities and accountability.

Marco did not win. He isn’t going to win. And he probably won’t even run again.

Joe Manchin is one of a handful of sane Democrats. I’m expecting him to switch parties at some point.

Marco pulled the wool over many voters' eyes when he first ran for Senate. He talked like a Tea Party conservative, then once in office (during the rare instances when he was sufficiently motivated to even show up), he voted like a McCain-Graham liberal.

After that, the power of incumbency explains his re-election. It seems damned difficult to remove a dud once he gets into office, McCain and Graham being cases in point. Marco's role in the Gang of 8 and his arrogance didn't sink him, though they probably did cost him the FL vote in the Presidential primaries.

Marco, McCain, and Graham are crypto-liberal scumbags. Crypto-liberals masquerading as conservatives Republicans have the potential to do more damage than liberal Democrats who acknowledge who/what they are.

Wholeheartedly agree with that. And the left knows it full well too, and are maneuvering to try to use these rats in conservative clothing to obstruct Trump's and conservative policy, because without a few turncoats from the R party, the 'rat party's hands are tied.

No. Florida has a closed Primary. Democrats only get to vote for Democrat candidates. Republicans only get to vote for Republican candidates. Independents, unless they have candidates, do not get to vote.
