Where'd you grow up - Beverly Hills?
Just kidding. I remember seeing that as a kid, but not very often.
The women in my family never wore gloves to go shopping, but they could 'put on the Ritz' when they dressed up for an evening out. Gloves, hats, accessories, heels, makeup, jewelry, perfume, etc. I used to marvel at the transformation.
They didn’t wear them to go grocery shopping or down to the garden shop, but they did to go to the department stores. They did for travel on a plane or train, too. Any public special occasion.
