Ted Cruz just took the Dems' Jeff Sessions hearing hypocrisy and killed it with FIRE
Conservative Review ^ | 01/10/2017 | By: Maria Jeffrey

During Senator Jeff Sessions’, R-Ala. (C,78%) Attorney General confirmation hearing today in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Senator Ted Cruz, R-Tex. (A, 97%) pointed out numerous Democratic hypocrisies that have been manifested in the past few years and during the hearing.

Democrats on the committee, especially Senator Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif. (F, 0%) had been grilling Sessions on whether he would uphold abortion laws in the United States if he becomes Attorney General. Senator Patrick Leahy, D, Vt. (F, 6%) interrogated Sessions on LGBT rights, questioning whether Sessions would uphold civil rights laws as Attorney General.

But did the Democrats care when Obama routinely flouted the law?

Ted Cruz wasn’t having it:

CLICK ABOVE LINK FOR THE VIDEO...

“When the Obama Justice Department sent millions of dollars of taxpayer money to sanctuary cities defying federal immigration law, the Democrats on this committee were silent. When the Obama administration refused to enforce federal immigration law…the Democrats on this committee were silent. When the Obama administration released tens of thousands of illegal aliens including rapists and murderers into the general population, Democrats on this committee were silent.”

Ted Cruz was kicking ass. And he wasn’t done. He pointed out Democratic hypocritical silence on Obama flouting the law and paying a ransom to Iran and for releasing Guantanamo terrorists without congressional approval.

Senator Cruz’s comments were met with acclaim from conservatives on Twitter:

And there goes @tedcruz back on the top of his game...calling out Democrats hypocrisy/lawlessness. Woo-hoo

Ted Cruz is absolutely destroying the democrats on the Senate Floor. Thank God we have him in the senate. #SenateHearings #ConfirmSessions

Preach it, Ted Cruz.

One example that I recall was your complaint about a Cruz campaign commercial in which he portrays Trump as kicking a Grandmother out of her house.

That campaign commercial was not false. Trump really did try to kick a grandmother out of her house so he could tear it down and build a parking lot.

It isn't a lie if it happens to be true. Trump really attempted to do this thing of which the Campaign commercial accused him.

“Do you really think you are pure as the wind driven snow?”

We don’t need to be. We ain’t the douche bag candidate that refused to back the party candidate and even went so far as to suggest people vote for the other party’s candidate.

Cruz did an exceptional job here of backing Sessions and crushing Stuart Smalley under the weight of his flagrant lies.

Why can't you Cruz carpers give credit where credit is due, or just shut the hell up for once.

“When did Donald Trump admit that Cruz’s father wasn’t involved with Lee Harvey Oswald?”

When did he say he WAS? Please provide a quote.

he’ll return to his old form and someday publicly denounce Beck.

When you tell me you think it was best for Tead to sit it out, is it twisting your words to state you think it was best Curz didn’t outright endorse Trump or trash Hillary for her criminality and unfit status to be president?

It seems to me your proper response would be, “You know what, I didn’t mean it that way, but I get your point. It did sound like that didn’t it.”

Something happens to the mind when campaigning. Somehow people do and say things they think are right but it turns out hurting them. For instance today one of the senators asked Sessions if he said lock her up...and he reluctantly said yes. Looking back was probably a dumb thing for him to do but probably didn’t know at the time he’d be getting grilled for attorney general. So now this has become one of those things that he had to recuse himself of (the Clinton case )when he’s in the position of AG. I guess I have to say I still like Ted and there is a place for him even though he really made me mad during the campaign. And.. Let’s face it Trump did a few dumb things too that I wish he hadn’t.

Agree, though that wasn’t one of my two examples. Mine were so blatant and shameless, I remain to this day amazed that so few Cruz supporters called him out on them. It would have improved his campaign enormously, had his own supporters held him to a higher standard.

However, let me say that Cruz did a superb job today. It doesn’t change the issues of the past, but in and of itself it was a tour de force. I only wish he’d have mentioned the gun walking crimes Holder committed. Other than that, A+.

Thank you, Ted!

Ted Cruz made some mistakes, but he did end up campaigning for Trump in the end.

Mistakes?! He's lucky to still have both knees after this bullshit:

BTW, There are several Cruz droolers around here who have seen the above and still insist he is AG or Chief Justice material.

You remember the little greek Gramma in My Big Fat Greek Wedding who was always prowling for ‘disgusting Turks!’ all over the neighborhood? That’s what a lot of these remind me of :)
