Thanks for the info. As SoCal Pubbie noted, no one is making small pickup trucks in the U.S. these days. I wish Ford would quit fooling around and just grab that market.
If I wanted a Colorado-size pickup, I'd have bought one by now. I need something smaller.
I guess I’m stuck in the 1980s! I was thinking of the “mini” pickup category, like the old Chevy Luv, Ford Ranger, and other Japanese made small pickups.
The only one remaining in the US market that still looks and feels to be a true midsize to me is the Nissan Frontier. Everything else is more akin to what full size once was.

CAFE standards. The fuel economy a truck must get is proportional to its "footprint" (rectangular area between the tires).
A smaller truck can't meet the gov't requirements.
So we have no smaller trucks.
