One couple found a way to make Manhattan affordable: not paying rent on their Chelsea loft for six years. Digital-content producers Zachary Bennett and Karen Nourse quit paying the $4,754.02 monthly rent on their West 26th Street place back in 2010, according to a lawsuit.
They owe $410,000 in rent and electric charges, their landlord claims.

Last year in NY state had a tenant from hell who worked the ‘house is uninhabitable so I’m withholding rent’ gig - 3 months of pain and lawyers before he was out. Turns out he had worked this scam in NY his entire life
This is a place we have rented for the last 18 years to 7 different tenants. All tenants are still on friendly terms.
Amazing, that’s a one in a million shot, he lucked out and did something people like. Who would’ve guessed, you can’t predict these things, like Facebook, a freakin’ website and the guy is worth something like $43 BILLION.

An obama is a male who has a degree in gender studies, but works at Starbucks.
An obama requires counseling if grafitti appears championing a candidate other than his.
An obama can be found protesting the victorious candidate's election, but didn't vote himself.
An obama will tell you we must accept refugees, but won't allow them in his neighborhood..
I could on and one with far left loony liberal descriptors, so I just call them all obamas..
maybe these are the people posting all those “my sister made $5000 last week..” blog comments
$4800 a month rent? The joy of living in NYCity!! My house on 6 lakefront acres with a pool is $3500.
Can I do it?
I also hate paying rent.
I think they’re Obamas because, well, isn’t everyone in Chelsea an Obama?
That's pretty much what I did. I was renting my house out in Texas while I was working in North Carolina. Ended up having to show up on the doorstep with a shotgun in hand. Told them to get the %$(@* out within 24 hours or I'd be back. They left.
I am skeptical of the story at the moment. I can’t find their company or their names listed as a defendant in a NY Supreme Court case. While Landlord-Tenant cases have been known to drag their feet, I’m hard-pressed to believe that they *just* filed this case.
It was my experience that lawyers were the last to pay on time. Accordingly, when a lawyer asked me to help him/her with their tax returns, I got 50% up front.
