They all signed up for a few years of heavy subsidies from the feds, during the first few operational years for Obamacharitycare. Now that the subsidies have been eliminated or severely reduced, they need replacement revenue. Companies can't live forever on cost reductions in order to meet stockholder expectations. Eventually, revenue needs to increase in order for companies to thrive or even stay in business.
Health insurance companies fared quite well for most of my adult life....I don't know why they won't again unless government gets in the way.

Some proposed solutions involve decoupling health insurance from employment. I think that call it transportable. I'd remove that burden from business completely. Business's higher profits would find there way into employees pockets. Let the people shop for what they want and need. Prices will drop.
