President-elect Donald Trump has fired, effective Inauguration Day January 20, every U.S. ambassador politically appointed by President Barack Obama, according to a report published Thursday night by the New York Times.
The Times reports the State Department sent out a notice on December 23 informing the ambassadors of Trumps order. The move sent shock waves through the diplomatic corps as some ambassadors in previous transitions had been given time to leave their post for personal convenience.

Congress has the power to expand the number of courts, though. The backlog of cases awaiting trial would be reduced and Trump could fill all those additional courts with conservative constitutionalist judges. Young ones. Then as the old Dim judges retire and the backlog of cases drops, reduce the number of courts again and the conservative judges would be all that is left.Excellent strategy!
Where are comments in Times Story?
All ambassadors must submit their resignations when a new President is elected. Usually, career officer Ambassadors are left in place. It is unusual that they would be replaced.
DNC to its moochers, some of you will have to get jobs, we’re running out of teats.
50 years of stage craft, entertaining people.
Next fire all democrat federal us attorneys.
Clinton did it. Just respecting precedent.
He’s made a point of leaving in place the US Attorney for NY who’s prosecuted both Rs and Ds without fear.
Many of the Obama political appointees have worked feverishly to get their jobs recast as permanent civil service jobs. May or may not work. I can’t recall the details, but way back when, the “Schedule C” for employees of the federal government (political appointees) expires at the end of the Administration that did the appointing.
Wow.
Sylvester Stallone for Ambassador to Russia please.
Good.
They might have to get real jobs now.
“He cant, but will try to, fire civil service employees.”
Reorganize their job out of existence is a better tactic. Firing takes too long these days.
While I like this, can he even do this? He has no authority yet. I guess it’s a heads up?
I was wondering if it might be routine for them and others to tender their resignation with a new president.
Decided to find a link on Ambassadors. Roughly 45 are political appointees, the remainder of the 188 total are career, and presumable covered by civil service protections.

“Hard to believe she was the daughter of Jacqueline Boivier Kennedy.”
I agree.
By stark comparison with Caroline Kennedy, who is as inarticulate as they come and who carries a heavy middle Atlantic, perhaps D.C. regional accent, consider how clear and pleasant are the voices and how smooth and well-spoken and lacking in any regional accent the Trump children are.

LOL, I’ve pretty much split time in my life between New England the deep south and the midwest.
I’ve notice most racists reside in the northeast. In the deep south our neighbors are blacks and jews.
In the midwest, they’re pretty segregated, but not like the northeast.
I spent a little time in the perverse state of California, but one thing is for sure:
With the exception of Washington DC, California has more sexual deviants the the rest of the world combined.
