To me, this is perhaps a greater crime than the crime itself. The head of the Cook County police actually said something to the effect these were ignorant perpetrators who made bad choices.
If I were in charge, he’d be brought up on charges for obstructing justice in not charging them and urging adjudication authorities to prosecute for hate crimes under the full extent of the law.
It is reprehensible. Are they willing to wait until when the same thing starts happening again, in reverse. Perhaps then they will take the one sided bias of their “hate crime” laws seriously and do something about it.
