For five straight years, a study by United Van Lines says that New Jersey is the state most abandoned in all of the country, meaning the biggest percentage of out-of-state moves that it does are from New Jersey 63 percent to be specific.
Weve spoken to so many listeners who have moved out of Jersey over the years that it was difficult to even begin a list of reasons, but here are some things we came up with, just to name a few:

Yankees are the least of HOuston’s problems. Most of those migrate there from the other Southern states.
So what has Governor Staypuff Marshmellow Man (aka Mr. Donut) done to reform his totally corrupt state?
Those high property taxes are because you’re paying for the people who don’t pay.
I despise property taxes for this very reason. As far as I know there is nowhere in the US where you can ever truly own property.
If by “people who don’t pay” you mean the welfare voters for the Dems and RINOs that the same don’t want to have to pay in order to guarantee the votes.
Why no mention of crime - Organized, gangs, ethnic and drug, human trafficking etc.?
Why no mention of the deplorable state of education in the largely black cities?
Jersey is a pretty state. It’s the people, esp. the liberals and their “pets” who have crapped on it.
Most property tax in my town goes to the bloated school budget and ridiculous amount of political hack education administrators
My aunt and uncle left Jersey for North Carolina.
There are lots of things that Trenton-based radio station aren’t mentioning or going to mention.
I even did it a second time, later on in the thread, wow..!
Don’t sweat it. The only people who do not make mistakes are those who do nothing.
I made a mistake by posting about it before reading further.
You do good work. Don’t let this bug you.
Some places in Alaska do not have property taxes.
Hyder, AK, is one of them. I went to visit. There are reasons the town is losing population.
We left NJ over 20 years ago for all the reasons listed, plus jobs were very scarce, so took advantage of a transfer to Minnesota. It was better there, but have since moved to Texas where we’re VERY HAPPY. I’d never go back to NJ.
Maybe Upstate NY and the red bits of PA could secede from their respective states and then form their own.
“His house is $900K with a $17k property tax. NJ is a terrible place financially to live.”
We just refinanced the home we built 32 years ago here in Northern California. The place “bank appraised” for $2 million+. Thanks to Proposition 13, our property taxes are only $7k. For us, California is financially a good place to live. That said, the RATS here are constantly trying to find ways to circumvent Prop 13, which is tough to do, since it was passed by a referendum. The real problem, the country over, is financing public screwels with the property tax. “Public Edumacation” should not be a property-related expense.
“In fact, a lot of us would like to vote Philadelphia out of the Commonwealth and force them on New Jersey.”
That’s a political process known as “$hit Aggregation!” Here in California, six of our northern counties are trying to band together with the southern tier of counties in Oregon to do just the opposite, “Free themselves from Liberal $hit” by forming an entirely new state.
“Dont know whats wrong with me :(”
It is difficult to move from complex political problems to simple math problems. For example, I once moved from talking about the impossibility of reincarnation to the number of hours in a week. Yup. I could not add up the number of hours in the week quickly. Embarrassing.
People need to love America in order to understand that taxes and regulations should be lowered.
I guess some people never learn.
They ve moved into the Richmond Va. area, and voted Hillary. Pretty sad. They haven’t put 2 and 2 together that their voting habits destroyed the place they left.
Here in Virginia, I feel your pain.
