Several NAACP protesters led by their national president were escorted away in handcuffs by police after staging a sit-in Tuesday at the Alabama office of Sen. Jeff Sessions, the nominee for U.S. attorney general, the civil rights group said.
The organization held the demonstration to protest Sessions nomination by President-elect Donald Trump, saying Sessions has a questionable record on civil rights and cant be trusted to be the chief law enforcement officer for voting rights.
We have an attorney general nominee who does not acknowledge the reality of voter suppression while mouthing faith in the myth of voter fraud, [Cornell] Brooks said by phone earlier in Tuesday's protest.

Seriously, that organization is about as relevant as the United Nations. They’re desperate.
“Several NAACP protesters led by their national president were escorted away in handcuffs by police”
Good.
If the NAACP protest, led by their national president’could only get a few to protest, could one get a few people to protest they are toast.
Yeah, whatever NAACP, just get your picture ID’s ready if you plan on voting in the future.
I’m sure the SPLC has labeled this a hate crime, or is at least thinking about it.
Schlonged! They expected the GOP to be too timid to make any obvious objections. Thought we’d be too afraid of being called Racist. Keep it going, Mr. Sessions!

So Sessions is going to be a better AG than we thought!
I live in Session’s home town. In my lifetime, I have never seen voter suppression or intimidation....EVER! maybe before i was born but not in 51 years since.
Photo Voter ID, paper ballots, purge rolls of dead and illegal voters. When Detroit comes up with boxes marked 306 ballots that contain a total of about 50, Jill Stein has done us all a favor getting the voter fraud investigation ball rolling.
We have an attorney general nominee who does not acknowledge the reality of voter suppression while mouthing faith in the myth of voter fraud,
We know there is massive voter fraud. It’s just the Dems that are committing it.
I read the articles yesterday where the NAACP claimed the protest would continue until Sessions was denied the AG post or they were arrested. It seems we arrived at a quicker conclusion than they had anticipated. It certainly was the conclusion most FReepers in the other threads favored by a large margin.
Winning just never gets old, does it?
You mean Sessions didn’t withdraw? What is happening to people?
It’s a good thing race doesn’t exist.
How nice! More Blacks fulfilling their own weird "Manifest Destiny." Of to your cages, little stupid ones. Time to learn about actually being 'equal' under the law.
These sitting experts find out that "Reality" is in fact quite different from the "Affirmative Action" world they were brought up to believe actually existed (in direct and diametric opposition to every fiber of the true concept of "equality...")
Ah, just more proof that the subtly deceitful and devastatingly destructive racism of lowered expectations has never lifted anyone out of anything.
The only voter suppression I have seen were the two fools from the black pampers standing in front of a voting place with billy clubs in 2008 trying to intimidate people.
Of course, voter fraud hardly occurs anywhere, just in those tiny blue areas.
They should have night-sticked them!
