NAACP occupies Sen. Jeff Sessions’ office, calls for him to withdraw U.S. A G nomination

Members of the NAACP started occupying the office of Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions Tuesday and called for him to turn down his controversial nomination to become the next U.S. Attorney General.

“The @NAACP & @AlabamaNAACP are occupying the Mobile office of @jeffsessions--until he withdraws as a AG nominee or we're arrested,” NAACP President Cornell William Brooks tweeted at 12:44 p.m., with a photo showing several members sitting outside the door.

President-elect Donald Trump has tapped Sessions, 70, to be his Attorney General — a move that drew immediate rebukes for Sessions' history of opposing civil rights causes.

Sessions lost a nomination from President Ronald Reagan to become a federal judge after accusations that he had made racist remarks. Former colleagues said he called civil rights groups, including the NAACP, “un-American” and “communist inspired,” but said he was “okay” with the Ku Klux Klan until he learned that some members smoked marijuana.

Since then, he has earned a reputation as one of the staunchest conservatives in the Senate, and he has opposed Obamacare, the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, and all three of President Obama’s Supreme Court nominees.

If you are going to do that, nail the bathroom doors shut. Nail the entrances and exit doors shut. Break out all the windows and take off every door except the ones nailed shut. Turn off the electricity and water.Turn away all medical and fire crews that respond. And then leave them.

They are not a joke. A nightmare maybe. A joke is supposed to be funny, these sobs are anything but funny.

Perhaps the NAAWP should occupy Maxine Waters’ office.

Isn’t it ironic that a group that supports racial inequity by championing one race over another would go to the extent to mention another group that allegedly
supports racial inequity by championing on race over another.

The Sheriff Association should swing by and occupy Senator Sessions office, as well. Possibly the vaunted NAACP would have to share some space.

Thanks for the correction. I would think that federal law enforcement would have jurisdiction even in Alabama because it is a US Senator’s office.

Crap brought up in the late 1980s when the jackass party had regained a majority in the U.S. Senate. It was without merit, but they did have the votes to deny him confirmation to a circuit court seat for which Reagan had nominated him.

People have a right to occupy their own homes. That’s about it.

I’m sick of people (liberals) occupying private property that is not their own.

Maybe police should conduct a raid of NAACP properties and “occupy” them indefinitely.

Maybe the NAACP should be occupying the offices of A & E Entertainment since they are the ones funding the KKK these days

Fedgov murders Mormons for this kind of thing, do they not?

What makes the NAACP immune from gratuitous executions?

If not, we need to start forming our own activist groups both to defend against physical intimidation from the left, and to retaliate with our own direct action against them if they don’t back off.

We need to do that anyway. These thugs don't listen to reason.
