Actually we don’t know that Obama was sworn-in. Remember how Roberts screwed up the swearing-in ceremony? (IMO it was intentional.) And then Obama had to be sworn-in in private.

There is a protectiveness blacks seem to feel towards Obama that blinds them to history. I can remember early on in his presidency one black congresswoman declaring that he had faced more opposition than any president in history, apparently ignorant to the fact that between the election of the first Republican POTUS and his inauguration 6 states had seceded from the union, followed shortly after by 3 whole and 1 partial state (Virginia).
I'm inclined to think that was stronger opposition plus, you know, thre was that increases dent with John Wilkes Booth.
