I caught the movie "Youth" on HBO yesterday, starring Michael Caine and Harvey Keitel. The music for the film was composed by David Lang. The song's text is biblical, from "Song of Songs." It's in 5/4 time, in the minimalist style, hypnotic and haunting. I haven't been able to get this one out of my head all day.

There aren’t many pieces in 5/4.

Of course, there is “Take Five”, “Mission Impossible”,

and this little piece I used to listen to in my hippie days:

“We’re all just extras.”

A very good film.
