The media has to change. They don’t have a choice.
They can go bankrupt using the old model, or they can adapt and try to act like professionals with the goal of telling the truth.
I expect them to go bankrupt.
could not have said that better
I say that a lot :/
In a just world they would have gone bankrupt a long time ago.
They will just find a rich patron like Jeff Bezos or Carlos Sim to keep them afloat and spewing propaganda.
The new media is Drudge...and Free Republic
They are already insolvent and have been for years. They still operate because they are propped up by Bezos, Slim, Murdoch, etc.
Donald stated in the campaign that Bezos for example, who owns WAPO, owns it for the sole reason to give good press to members of Congress so that they will keep his taxes low. WAPO is a tax write-off for him that makes sense as a business expense for what he receives in return.
Soon we will see people like Bezos kiss up to Trump because they are sales people willing to do anything for their bottom line, and that is fine in my book but I don’t like to see them apply that whoring principle when the left is in power nor to Uniparty RINOs.
I would not be surprised if Bezos dumps WAPO and lets it die because they are so bad now, held in such low esteem that I believe they hurt his business association with them. He may try to have them appease conservatives but either way that form of media is pretty much done. Other dinosaur media are similarly controlled and operated.
News viewing commentator sites like FR should see a surge but perhaps with direct news postings by writers and reporters. Problem is FR is valuable for many of its posts being from the pathetic left where Freepers proceed to tear apart their writeups. The collective analysis, fact-checking, and comparisons posted in FR are awesome. It’s a good place to see what the real story behind the story is and also to watch unsuspecting new Freepers get taken in by slanted and scam reports from the left. When viewing how such Freepers are corrected, FR becomes in its way a teaching service.
