My woodstove is a 1987 Shenandoah.

Just a firebrick-lined heavy steel box. Just tossed 3 more chuncks of white oak in there before I sat back down and saw this article.

And I’d guess these people wouldn’t much like the tens of thousands of unwanted trees I cut each year, pile in huge, 2-story-house sized piles and light up.

Best part is...local governments pay me damn good money to do it

I live on land that had been farmed by a mule team half a century ago but was too steep a slope for a tractor.

Nature took over. Locusts and cherries grew up like weeds.

Nature is still taking over, replacing the locusts and cherries with poplars and oaks.

Haven't had to cut down one living tree...pleny of forced out first-growth for my stove.

We have a 70’s model Fisher wood burning stove, it will handle 32 inch logs, there have times when I over do it and we have to open the doors in sub-freezing temps to cool the house down.

We had a wood stove that was not EPA compliant. Would heat our whole house. Then they started ‘no burn’ days. The days got to be bigger and longer in number. We’d have 21 days of no burn days. Then we were going to sell so had to pull out the wood stove and restore the fireplace. That didn’t make sense but...whatever. The fireplace smoked a heckuva lot more than the stove. Didn’t sell so installed a pellet stove. Now it’s non EPA compliant and we’ll have to pull it out before we can sell again.
It’s non ending with them.
