Obama didn't realize what he was doing. He thought "red phone" is like a "red line" - "red" is just the color for hissy fits and nothing more.
Thankfully he's gone soon and he can go wave his red commie flag all day. Maybe someone can get him some red crayons and a red phone for those bad days when nobody seems to care what he has to say
