>Yeah, i remember seeing that headset design at the link. Its for Virtual Reality. I saw this all months ago. Didnt the idea of VR fade after the 90’s? (Strange Days,Lawnmower Man movies).

VR is here to stay this time. It’s killer app will be 3d porn and cheap training simulators. It’s not there yet(resolution is too low), but another 5 years and people will be using it as a virtual PC monitor where you can have as much space to as needed to to work on a project.

VR could probably hurt the vacation and tourism industries as well.

If you can get the optimum experience of a faraway place with some options like seasons and the like, why bother going through the hassle of going?

No TSA abuse, passport problems, run ins with the local gendarmes, and jetlag. I could do it.

After a week of dealing with the boundless idiocy of people, I don’t have it in me to go anywhere past my local neighborhood.

Wait until they add the haptic interface! A *lot* of guys will be found dead of starvation in front of their computer...

(Shudders. What will that do to guys sending the proverbial d*ck pics, as in Anthony Weiner?)
