The very bad reason Jeff Sessions is ‘very unhappy’
www.Washingtontonpost.com ^ | 12/25/2016 | George F. Will

Nationwide, proceeds from sales of seized property (homes, cars, etc.) go to the seizers. And under a federal program, state and local law enforcement can partner with federal authorities in forfeiture and reap up to 80 percent of the proceeds. This is called — more Orwellian newspeak — “equitable sharing.”

No crime had been committed in the Sourovelises’ house, but the title of the case against them was Commonwealth of Pennsylvania v. 12011 Ferndale St. Somehow, a crime had been committed by the house. In civil forfeiture, it suffices that property is suspected of having been involved in a crime. Once seized, the property’s owners bear the burden of proving their property’s innocence. “Sentence first — verdict afterwards,” says the queen in “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.”

Why this obsession to keep conservatives ignorant of opinions you do not like, and of opinion makers you do not like?

We are not ignorant of George Will and his opinions, which are more often than not, anti-Conservative and pro-Establishment. His views have no credence or credibility. Using your logic, we should use this forum as a platform to air the views and opinions of the radical Left or ISIS. To what end?

Do you fear that this forum is too ignorant, too shallow, too week, and too stupid to deal with conservative heresy, apostasy or error on the merits without the ad hominem attacks and without the zot vigilantes? What are you afraid of?

You should know better. There are limits set by Jim Robinson as to what can be posted and from whom. And what is wrong with ad hominem attacks? The credibility and the agenda of the authors are relevant when it comes to evaluating their comments.

If these opinions were in written form instead of in the digital world, would you burn them? Would you burn the opinion makers? Or would you in this modern, enlightened digital age only zot them to outer cyber darkness?

LOL. Stop being a drama queen. No one is advocating book burning. FR is a conservative forum. There are other sites that allow other viewpoints. George Will's piece is from another site, i.e., the Washington Post. No one is preventing Will's views from being known. The question is what is being gained by widening his readership using FR?

I have been zotted three times so you might discount my views as over-the-top by resorting to the ad hominem(as I have no doubt you will), or you might consider whether this thread has spent most of its energy denigrating George Will rather than dealing with the merits of his argument.

You can deal with the merits of his argument and I will deal with George Will, the condescending pompous fool who spewed his anti-Trump vitriol from the beginning of his campaign until now. Will left the GOP and proclaimed his support of Hillary. He is pro-amnesty and a mouthpiece for the political elites. And he has been wrong virtually all the time when it comes to his analyses.

I could not phrase any better what is at the heart of Will’s problem than you did. Indeed, the perfect is the enemy of the good, as General George Patton liked to say about battle plans crafted by very timid souls.

George dwells perpetually in the past. His supposed reason for being is to dredge up ancient irrelevancies.

He thinks that those that don’t know history are doomed to repeat it ‘s mistakes not realizing the3 crap he writes is totally irrelevant to the present and has no bearing at all on the future.

He is just a tired, worn out old man

Obama dines with right wingers at George Will’s house - thinkprogress.org Excerpt:

"Barack Obama arrived at the home of conservative columnist George Will to dine with a host of right-wing luminaries."

"And, thanks to an enterprising photographer, a shot through a window showed op-ed stalwarts William Kristol and David Brooks are also part..."

Brooks, Kristol and Will - the inside the beltway "conservative" elites who were so eager to welcome Obama to Washington in 2009 - are continuing their scorched earth #nevertrump greeting for the Trump presidency.

Their "conservative" writings should be regarded accordingly. Let the thinkprogress.org leftwing internet crowd cover the trio.

Excellent example of seeing through the double speak of another typical elitist FAKE JOURNALIST by you exDemMom.

nathanbedford - As usual, you make a good point.

In this case I didn't notice the author's name until I started reading the comments here, but I'll admit certain names (Sowell, Hanson, Will) do sometimes cause me to read things I might not otherwise. My point is that these elitist opinion writers and journalists of every stripe may have their own agenda but they're name is everything to them. Their name is their brand and their income.

If enough of us stopped referring to these guys by name and lumped them all together as ANOTHER FAKE JOURNALIST, it probably wouldn't hurt their income much but I'd bet it really pisses them off.

Will hosted the infamous, secret dinner for Obama in 2009 to meet with so-called Conservative journalists. His wife worked for the Walker campaign and he never acknowledged that until he was forced to do so. At the same time, he was attacking Trump incessantly. Will is not a journalist.

BINGO!!!!! “He is the most smug, elitist, condescending, arrogant, narrow-minded, know-it-all talking head there is among a “profession” chock full of such people.”

You have perfectly described the “Self Anointed One.”

George Will’s purpose is to influence current events with his “opinion”.

Picture a man-child standing in front of an army battalion with a butter knife.

No more pathetic figure of a man is there than George Will.

...and don’t forget his wife was working for the Scott Walker campaign when Trump announced.

George would not disclose this connection when appearing on Fox hammering “the clown” Trump.

Trump called him out and it’s been downhill for George ever since.

Freemasonry is a form of islam.

They solidly believe that they possess a right to lie, thus their oath of office is worthless

Sorry, Nathan. I don’t want him or anyone banned. I responded to the original poster because George Will is a trou de cul in my opinion (excuse my French). I’m not for banning. I kind of said in my post that it was the second sentence I was agreeing with.

Re George Will. He reminds me with his writing that he sits in a well-appointed home office with his luxuries and baseball souvenirs and comfortably pontificates pure theory and pure arrogant superior BS.

He reminds me of the untraveled Swiss writer who wrote Swiss family Robinson. You can see him in his simple, snowbound Swiss home in the 1800s with a lantern on his wooden desk and a large bound volume of wild animals of the world on his desk before him, writing about the mysterious tropics from his wintry abode. When the Family Robinson were attacked by snakes, the poor writer who had never seen a snake described the snake coming up the path toward their makeshift home as fully erect to the height of seven feet, hopping menacingly toward their door.

This is how obvious Will is that he doesn’t understand the country or its people. He is enmeshed in theory. He is fooled by the Ted Cruzes of the world who play a great game of being what these erudite elites think is important.

Freemasonry is Islam.

There is absolutely nothing “harmless” about a freemason in high office.

Like all islamists, they believe in a pragma of lying to advance their agenda. An oath means absolutely nothing to them, unless it is an oath to protect Islam/masonry.

Freemasonry is a form of islam.

That's a tenuous connection at best...

So you actually saying Jeff Sessions would violate his oath of office to comply with a Freemasonry oath rather than the oath he took to defend and protect the constitution because freemasons have a historical tie to Islam in form and function?

Okey Dokey...

>> “He is fooled by the Ted Cruzes of the world...” <<

Oh really? Then why his venomous attacks on Ted Cruz?

Can it be because Cruz has done more to protect freedom in this country than any other presently living person?

You were doing fine until the vacuum in your head began generating that shrill hiss.
