The U.N. was expected to vote today on a resolution demanding an end to Israeli settlement building, and reports indicate that Obama was ready to allow the resolution to pass until Egypt put off the vote. President-elect Donald Trump put pressure on Egypt not to go forward with the resolution, and it seems to have had an effect. Charles Krauthammer said that the resolution could have done serious damage to Israel, making Trumps involvement daring and effective:
More than a slap on the wrist, I think it would have done permanent damage to Israel, which is why even Obama himself several years ago vetoed the resolution, because it sets conditions that take away all of Israels bargaining chips. In other words, it gives everything over to the Palestinians in advance in return for nothing from the Palestinians, no recognition of a Jewish state, no concessions at all. And I think what happened today was very important. The reason is that had Obama done what it looks like he was going to do, which is to have the U.S. abstain, the resolution then passes. And it will never be reversed. Because in order to be reversed, youve got to get the Security Council to vote to reverse it, and the Chinese and Russians would exercise a veto.
So this would have been one last shot at Israel, and particularly at Israels prime minister from Obama. An act of kind of I dont know if its ideological, but a lot of personal revenge. What Trump did was unprecedented. For a president-elect to step in, to publicly oppose it, and essentially to tell Egypt that introduced the resolution, You better withdraw this or you wont have a friend in the white House(continued)

He doesn't even have the balls to vote for the resolution. Just let it happen, then shrug and give us and Israel a "Hey, what can ya do?"
Is this POS out of office yet?

Now he needs to feed Obama’s useless oysters to the pigs publicly.

I think he would be surprised if you showed up with the necessary tools. You’d probably get one of those looks, “Do you do what it is that you are supposed to do? Can’t you see they are already gone?”
the present Egyptian leadership quietly loathes Obama and his Administration. Obama nearly put Egypt into civil war, ala Libya and Syria, with his disastrous support of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Intended as a show by Egypt which hates Bambi by showing they took DT’s direction.
Won’t do them any good!
Krauthammer has been an unmitigated POS where Trump has been concerned. He's blowing a kiss here because he's Jewish, and Israel is involved. That said, good on Trump and al Sisi for putting the screws to the UN nonsense. Both the US and Israel need to leave the UN.
Anyone watching the Fox panel with CK tonight would have seen troll Steve Hayes snarking Trump at every remark. He needs to go back to NR and shut his pie hole.
“I believe theres only one person thrilled about Obamas 8 years in the orifice - Jammah Cahtah who is now off the hook (now hes no longer the worst President in U.S. history).”
Unfortunately, Obola and Cahatah are the top of a sorry list of modern-day presidents. In my lifetime (born in 1940), there is only one really great president to look back on, RR (with an honorable mention to Eisenhower). I’m just counting on Trump to be RR on steroids. For the first time, we have a president who is rich enough not to need to steal, and smart enough not to have anything to do with the power brokers and all their money.
“He doesn’t even have the balls to vote for the resolution.”
Obola never leaves his buddy’s behind! He’s Mr. “Red Line in the Sand” doncha know?
Trump castrated Obama on the international stage, because it needed to be done.

How do you castrate a Eunuch?
An excellent and astute observation Joe!
Eff Krauthammer
Israel is only thing conservative about him
Not all Jews care about Israel but you’re right about Krauthammer
His hawkish view on Israel is his one schtick that separates him from being another Davd Corn

This was pre planned by Trump and al - Sisi, both of whom are very sharp strategic thinkers.
Obama is trying to destabilize Israel and the Middle East in general, and his move to sanction Israel would have brought the PLO- Israel conflict to a head which is in no one but the radical Jihadi and anarchist's interests
Obama was going to screw Israel before he left office - it was his highest priority.
Egypt stepped up to the plate and co opted Obama’s initiative to gain control and and headed it off at the pass by screwing up Obama’s time line.
Once it was too late for Obama or anyone else to start trouble, Trump demands Egypt stand down and Egypt complies.
Trump humiliates Obama and looks strong on the world stage, al- Sisi looks tough on Israel to quiet his hard liners while heading off chaos in his own neighborhood, guts the Jihadis and has Trump in his debt
Win - win for the good guys and humiliation and frustration for the bad guys.
Kind of like a WWF grudge match - a great show and the winners walk away much better off then they were before and the villains get their asses kicked.
The next 4 years are going to be fun to watch

Mr President, I’m still not tired of winning!
Winning at home and abroad - I need a sedative because if it gets any better I’ll have to scream....
Trump is moving in and operating by default. Obama’s only concern now is how to slip in more terrorists before he leaves office and sign in more repressive regulations.
