Judging from the Al Smith dinner, cavorting with the enemy doesn’t seem to be a tradition DJT intends to continue.
It’s an insult to suffering middle-class Americans, anyway. Reindeer games like that should be reserved for booming prosperity when everybody has room to laugh.

One of my most enjoyable experiences ever was drinking beer in the Hilton hotel bar communing with FReepers listening to the correspondents dinner. We had been FReeping the Presstitutes as they walked in on the street.
