I think the big worry is that this large volcano could produce at minimum an eruption at the level of Mount Tambora on the island of Sumbawa in the Indonesian Archipelago in 1815. That eruption--which spewed out some 15 cubic miles of volcanic ash--literally eliminated summer in 1816 in much of the world. It has the capability to eject out two to three times that amount, and that may be enough to trigger a mini Ice Age that could wipe out much of the world's agricultural output.
