At the request of the U. S. Presidential Inauguration Committee, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir has accepted an invitation to sing at the swearing-in ceremony during the presidential inauguration at the U.S. Capitol next month in Washington, D.C.
On January 20, 2017, the Choir will perform during the inauguration ceremony for President-elect Donald J. Trump and Vice President-elect Michael R. Pence.
This performance will mark the sixth time the Mormon Tabernacle Choir has sung at an inauguration. These inaugural events include the official swearing-in ceremonies for George H. W. Bush (1989), Richard M. Nixon (1969), and Lyndon B. Johnson (1965). They performed in inaugural parades for George W. Bush (2001), George H. W. Bush (1989), and Ronald W. Reagan (1981).
The Mormon Tabernacle Choir has a great tradition of performing at the inaugurals of U. S. presidents," said Ron Jarrett, president of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. "Singing the music of America is one of the things we do best. We are honored to be able to serve our country by providing music for the inauguration of our next president."

..wandering what is in the soul of prominent Mormons, Mitt Romney, Dingy Harry, Glen Beck.....
Good pick!
Plus slap in the face to McMuffin, Romney and CheetoFace.
Priceless on so many levels.
Go Trump!
Trump helping to restore our culture on his first day in office.
Wow!!!
Have an AMERICAN celebration rather than a Hollywood one.
And I’m sure the list of celebrities who didn’t want to perform will be publicized. Will it help or hurt their careers? We’ll find out in time. Or one could ask the Dixie Chicks.
And as a friend said on Facebook, “...and they will have all their clothes on! What a blessing!”
There’s no risk in a celebrity saying anything anti-Trump, at least nobody will lose their job for it.
But if someone is pro-Trump, then their career is in jeopardy.
Let ‘em do “The Battle Hymn of the Republic”. Their version always sends chills up my spine.
I love the idea of groups like the Mormon Tabernacle Choir . if I was planning the Inauguration I would go and see what Julliard Students wanted to perform. I am sick of an entertainer being picked because he is a part of popular culture. I would look for some garage band with conservative cred basically I would try and exclude as many of those in the entertainment industry I could who were not supporters.
.
The Mormon Block and Tackle Choir?
Wow they should be able to drag in bunches of leftie dweebs.
.
If they do, I hope they sing the third verse, which is not often sung:
I have read a fiery gospel writ in burnished rows of steel:
"As ye deal with my contemners, so with you my grace shall deal;
Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with his heel, Since God is marching on."
I was thinking they same thing. Even though they are WAY to big to be singing it, they have to.
(By the way, the Hallelujah Chorus was written for smaller choirs, not more than 40 or so total voices. More than that it loses something...just my opinion mind...C the L)
Great pick for that reason alone. Ronald Reagan had them sing at BOTH his inaugurations. I don’t think any other president can claim that honor.
